Nitropolis 2: Slot Overview
ELK Studios’ animal-fronted dystopian future returns for another round of chaos in the sequel, Nitropolis 2. The original Nitropolis was a shot of high-octane madness, packed with so many ways to win that even Elon Musk’s accountant would have trouble tracking them all. Staying true to the formula, this follow-up scales up most of what came before, delivering even more win routes plus a stack of fresh features to learn as the clans come back to claim their precious Nitro.
That said, one clan is missing this time. The Rouge Rats have been thrown behind bars by Sergeant Nitro Wolf, who’s on a one-critter mission to scrub Nitropolis clean. The setting also shifts to a more city-heavy vibe, with the 6-reel, 4-row grid framed by towering high-rises—think Blade Runner or The Fifth Element. It has that future-hive feel where residents live packed together among countless beings—humans, cyborgs, or here, cats and dogs. As before, an excellent soundtrack drives the destruction, and even if it echoes the first game, Nitropolis 2 still hits with the force of a Slipknot show when it kicks off.
On the math side, there are a few adjustments, with the most obvious being a small dip in RTP to 95%. Volatility stays high, scored 8 out of 10, and hit frequency still sits at roughly 1 every 5 spins (20%). You can take on the clans on any device, setting stakes from 20 p/c to $/€100 per spin.
With the base 6×4 layout, you start with 4,096 ways to win, but once Nitro Reels begin dropping in, that total launches into the stratosphere—up to an outrageous 191,102,976. Because of this, symbol payouts are kept fairly modest: 6-of-a-kind wins using premium pugs, kitties, dawgs, or sergeants pay 0.7 to 1 times the bet. Next come 4 logo symbols, and then J-A card icons as the lower-paying set. Wild paylines pay the same as the top-value symbol, and in most situations they substitute for any symbol except the scatter.
Nitropolis 2: Slot Features

Nitro Reels are still the main attraction, now backed up by respins, a range of Nitro Booster modifiers, bonus games, and Elk’s X-citer feature. Nitro Reels can land anywhere and take up 2 symbol places. Each one holds 4 to 12 paying symbols. The more symbols inside, the more ways to win you create, topping out at a jaw-dropping 191,102,976. Any time a win lands, every symbol or Nitro Reel involved in that win will respin on its own while the rest stay fixed. Respins keep rolling as long as fresh winning combinations continue to form.
A key update in Nitropolis 2 is the new feature reel positioned above the main grid, called the Nitro Booster. Feature symbols can land there and alter the reels beneath them as follows:
- Nitro Wild – Nitro Reels landing in the same column will contain wilds.
- All Wild – all sticky or new Nitro Reels will contain only wilds.
- All Premium – all Nitro Reels landing will contain high-value symbols.
- Nitro Upgrade – additional symbols are added to the Nitro Reels in this column.
- All Match/Nitro Match – all landing Nitro Reels match a symbol on the reel to the left.
- Respin – locks bonus symbols and Nitro Reels then awards a respin.
- Pay both ways – paylines are effective both ways.
Hot rod symbols act as the scatter, and landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 awards 10, 15, 20, or 25 free spins. In free spins, everything above still applies, but now when Nitro Reels land, they are locked in place for the rest of the feature.
On top of that, there are 5 feature buy options accessed via the X-iter menu. For 5x the bet, you can purchase a spin that’s guaranteed to pay something. 25x the bet buys three spins where feature or bonus symbols land in every position of the Nitro Booster reel. Paying 100x the bet guarantees a spin with 3 scatter symbols, while 200x the bet guarantees one with 4 scatter symbols. The headline option is the Super Bonus for 500x the bet. In return, you enter free spins with 12 Nitro Reels on every spin—the highest amount available.
Nitropolis 2: Slot Verdict
As a sequel, the first-time surprise is naturally reduced since you roughly know what’s coming. Even so, Nitropolis 2 remains an intense, visceral ride and unlike almost anything else on the market. That being said, you can spot hints of other slots creeping in—most notably titles like Punk Rocker or San Quentin xWays thanks to the upper bonus row. The Nitro Booster may not be the most groundbreaking idea, but it expands the gameplay by introducing a huge number of extra moving parts.
Just like before, the visuals are polished, and the soundtrack is completely unhinged. It feels like the audio wizard couldn’t settle on a single genre, so blended them all together and shoved the resulting mess through a heavy metal shredder. It works, too, with the sound effects providing a big chunk of the adrenaline that Nitropolis 2 pumps into the experience.
That sensory overload can cut both ways, though. When you’re already fired up, reels refusing to cooperate becomes even more irritating. The Super Bonus is a good example: by reel two or three you can often tell whether wins are lining up, and when they aren’t, waiting out the rest of the spin—knowing nothing helpful is coming—can be frustrating. The flip side is that when the symbols do fall your way right on a huge beat drop, it feels fantastic.
One of the biggest shocks in Nitropolis 2 is the max win. Even though the ways to win have exploded, the top payout stays the same at 10,000x the bet. That’s still a very solid ceiling, but if 85 million+ ways to win already felt like overkill, adding another 100 million-plus will likely seem wildly excessive.
Still, “wildly excessive” has always been the Nitropolis identity. You’re not here for cautious 10-line spinning. Nitropolis 2 is like a roller coaster ripping through a crumbling fairground in the year 2099, falling apart mid-ride while you’re mainlining pumpkin juice. If that’s your kind of fun, strap in and get ready to go again.
