Mystic Wheel (Red Tiger): Review
Mystery, sorcery and Norse mythology take centre stage as you step into this fantasy slot made exclusively for Red Tiger by the same in-house studio behind Devil’s Number. Mystic Wheel is the rather underwhelming title of a straightforward yet slightly unusual 5×4, 30-payline game that will probably split players into two groups – those who can’t stand it and those who sort of enjoy it. It includes the Mystic Wheel bonus feature, which can be activated either in the usual way by landing 3 or more scatter symbols, or via the randomly triggered Wheel Activator feature. Once you’re in, enhanced multipliers and retriggers can pave the way to huge wins of up to 10,000 times your total stake.
On the visual side, Mystic Wheel is genuinely impressive, with a strong feeling of mystery and exploration. The action unfolds in a cave lit by northern lights, and with tense music in the background, the reels sit directly in front of the enchanted supernatural wheel that slowly turns behind them. On the reels, you’ll find low-value card suit icons alongside higher-paying key, ring, medallion and diamond symbols. The diamond is the top payer, awarding 10 times your stake for 5 of a kind. There’s no wild symbol, and the symbols don’t appear fully stacked on the reels either. Because of that, the game plays quite volatile, with most of the win potential concentrated in the bonus.
Mystic Wheel (Red Tiger): Features

The base game is largely about biding your time until the bonus lands, and there are two routes to get there. On any spin, the Wheel Activator feature can trigger at random. When it happens, the screen starts to rumble and both the reels and the wheel’s outer ring flare up with a golden shine. Additional scatter symbols are then added to the reels, greatly boosting your odds of setting off the bonus.
The second way to activate the Mystic Wheel Spins feature is to land 3 or more scatter symbols anywhere on the reels during normal play. Each scatter awards one spin on the wheel, with 5 being the maximum you can start with. As you’ve likely guessed, this isn’t a standard free spins round. Instead, it plays more like a Wheel-of-Fortune style feature, where the wheel is divided into segments offering different rewards, though multipliers make up most of the options. The possible prizes are:
- Double All – if the wheel comes to a stop on the “Double All” segment, all win multipliers are doubled.
- Multiplier Boost – these segments contain plus signs with numbers on them. If, for example, the wheel stops on a +3 segment, all the multipliers will be increased by 4 (10x becomes 13x).
- Extra Spins – land this one and you’ll retrigger the feature with x amount of extra spins.
- Question Mark – if the wheel stops on the question mark, you will either receive a random number of spins or a multiplier boost.
At the very best, you can potentially reach up to 77 spins on the wheel and collect as much as 10,000 times your stake.
Mystic Wheel (Red Tiger): Verdict
Wheel bonuses have existed for a long time, but they’re usually included as small, low-paying add-ons alongside a main free spins feature. With its fairly unconventional format, the game already feels like it has limited scope. The wheel itself also feels a little too standard and too similar to countless other wheel bonuses to really win us over. The developers would, quite literally, need to reinvent the wheel to convince us. On top of that, using 4 rows while restricting the game to only 30 paylines is, in our view, a classic misstep that doesn’t really serve a purpose.
No, Mystic Wheel won’t make wheels great again, but we do like that Red Tiger makes an effort to deliver such a broad variety of games, even if not every release will appeal to everyone. That said, the potential here is excellent, and as we’ve all learned by now, Red Tiger potential is no joke (unlike other providers who promise absurd potential) which Casumo’s montly presentations of best performing slots have repeatedly proven.
