Money Train 4: Slot Overview

All aboard, because a tough little locomotive named Money Train 4 is rolling into town. If any slot series needs almost no introduction, it’s the Money Train line. Loud, intense, wildly fun, punishing, and capable of huge rewards, the Money Train collection has been a flagship for Relax Gaming ever since the original launched in 2019. Every new entry has scaled up, and as expected, Money Train 4 is the largest of the lot. After watching Money Train 2 and Money Train 3 go all-in, that’s a pretty intimidating promise. Still, if you’re ready for one more trip—especially knowing it’s the last—then come along for the ride.

That’s right: Money Train 4 is intended as the final chapter, and it’s not exactly planning to slip away quietly. The base game has plenty of grit too, as Relax Gaming has shifted Money Train 4 off-world as part of some exploration, terraforming, or resource-harvesting mission—feel free to fill in the story. You won’t need much imagination, though, because Relax Gaming has built a stunning futuristic dystopia with strong Terminator 2 vibes, moving from bright and clear in the base game to rainy and more oppressive during the bonus. It’s stylish in every mode, with sharp visuals and cinematic audio that make Money Train 4 feel like a slot/video game/movie hybrid.

Once you’re ready to climb aboard, you can set your wager from 10 p/c to $/€6 per spin, with two bonus buys available just a click or two away. And yes—Money Train 4 is a highly volatile slot, as you’d expect, offering an RTP of 96.1% or 96.5% when buying the feature. The base game uses a 6×6 sized grid, and thanks to a scatter pays system, standard wins land when at least 8 identical high pay symbols appear, or 10 identical low pay symbols, anywhere on the reels.

The 8 pay symbols are made up of low-paying card ranks—diamonds, clubs, hearts, and spades—plus 4 high-paying character icons. The smallest scatter wins return 0.4 to 1.2 times the bet, while the top prizes, created by 36 matching symbols, pay 100 to 1,000 times the bet. Money Train 4 does not have a wild symbol, though it brings plenty of other symbol types, which we’ll cover next.

Money Train 4: Slot Features

Alongside the notorious Money Cart Bonus Round that hits these games like a freight train, Money Train 4 also includes a Respins feature in the base game, plus a bonus buy option.

Respins Feature

This feature may trigger at the end of any spin. The symbol that appears most often on the reels becomes sticky, and a respin is granted, where only blanks, multipliers, or additional copies of the selected symbol can land. Hitting a multiplier or a pay symbol keeps the feature active—pay symbols remain stuck, while multipliers do not. When multipliers appear, they are added together and multiply the final win. Respins finish once no new symbols land.

Money Cart Bonus Round

This feature begins when 3 or more scatter symbols land in the base game and runs on a starting grid 6×4 in size. Persistent symbols can replace scatter symbols for triggering purposes. The triggering symbols reveal a value as a multiplier of the bet, and 3 respins are awarded, which reset when new symbols land. If a Persistent symbol triggers the bonus, then it activates before the first spin. Whenever a row is filled with symbols, an extra row is opened, and any symbols on that row carry out their effect. Up to 4 extra rows may be added this way. Money Train games are known for their special feature symbols, and Money Train 4 brings a whole arsenal:

  • Bonus Symbols – reveal a value of 1 to 10 times the bet.
  • Collector – collects all visible values and adds them to its own value.
  • Persistent Collector – collects all visible values and adds them to its own value at the end of that spin and each following spin. It does not collect its own value.
  • Adjacent Collector – collects all the values from the adjacent positions and adds them to its own value.
  • Persistent Adjacent Collector – collects all the values from the adjacent positions and adds them to its own value on that spin and each following spin.
  • Payer – reveals a value, then adds it to all other visible symbols.
  • Persistent Payer – reveals a value, then adds it to all other visible symbols on that spin and each following spin. Does not pay itself.
  • Adjacent Payer – reveals a value, then adds it to all adjacent symbols.
  • Persistent Adjacent Payer – reveals a value, then adds it to all adjacent symbols on the spin and each following spin.
  • Sniper – doubles the values of 3 to 8 other Bonus symbols. It can act on the same Bonus symbol more than once.
  • Persistent Sniper – doubles the values of 3 to 8 other Bonus symbols on that spin and each following spin. It can act on the same Bonus symbol more than once.
  • Collector Payer – selects 3 to 5 symbols as targets, adds their values to its own and then pays out the updated value to each of its targets.
  • Persistent Collector Payer – at the end of each spin, selects 3 to 5 symbols as targets, adds their values to its own and then pays out the updated value to each of its targets.
  • Arms Dealer – converts 1 to 4 Bonus symbols into a feature symbol, then after the conversion, the new feature symbol performs its action.
  • Persistent Arms Dealer – converts 1 Bonus symbol into a feature symbol at the end of the spin and each following spin. After the conversion, the new feature symbol performs its action.
  • Necromancer – revives 2 to 7 already used non-persistent feature symbols. The same symbol can be targeted several times.
  • Persistent Necromancer – revives 1 to 7 already used non-persistent feature symbols at the end of the spin and each following spin. The same symbol can be targeted several times.
  • Persistent Shapeshifter – Turns into one of these features after every spin – Collector, Payer, Sniper, Collector Payer, Arms Dealer or Unlocker.
  • Unlocker – unlocks a locked row.
  • Reset Plus – increases the starting value of the spin count by +1.
  • Upgrader – Upgrades 1 to 3 feature symbols to Persistent versions.

Buy Feature

The buy feature lets players jump straight into the bonus round. Two options are available: 100x the bet to trigger the feature, or 500x the bet to trigger the feature with 1 Persistent Symbol.

Money Train 4: Slot Verdict

Money Train 4 really brings to mind the saying, “All good things must come to an end.” From the comparatively modest start of Money Train (2019), to the massive leap seen in Money Train 2 (2020), to the sci-fi makeover of Money Train 3 (2022), and now the near slot/video game/movie blend of Money Train 4—with plenty of Money Carts along the way—the MT franchise is close to unrivalled in online gambling. It’s hard to name many series that have performed this well. And it hasn’t been driven by hype, either. Money Train slots have earned their status through outrageously entertaining features and truly enormous win clips. Each instalment expands on the last, and Money Train 4 keeps that momentum, feeling bigger and more dangerous than ever.

Visually and sonically, it’s as strong as ever—maybe even stronger. The off-world backdrop is a fitting place to close the series, whether you read it as Dune, Rogue 1, Terminator 2, or whatever sci-fi setting you prefer. Interestingly, one of the biggest shifts is in the base game, thanks to the scatter pays win system. There did appear to be plenty of dead spins, though the Respins feature helped balance that out when it showed up. In short, decent base-game outcomes are technically on the table, which should suit players who don’t rely on bonus buys. Even so, most people are here for the Money Cart round, and once again, Money Train 4 delivers. Relax Gaming has increased the number of feature symbols, creating a massive range of effects to watch for. As always, Money Train games show just how ridiculous things can get when feature symbols start interacting, and Money Train 4 looks set to follow that tradition.

Then there’s the win potential, which has climbed with every release and now sits at 150,000x the bet for Money Train 4. Unlike many titles that throw around sky-high max wins, Money Train 4 feels like it’s only a matter of time before someone reaches the cap. The real mystery is just how outrageous the path to that win will be. So, with a mix of sweetness and sting, Money Train 4 draws the curtain on one of the most successful slot franchises ever—and it does it with serious flair.
