With Magic Jokers, Slingshot Studios continues the feature blend that arguably began with Jade Shuriken, became more established with Spin Spin Sugar, and carries on here. Jade Shuriken felt like the most distinctive of the three, thanks to its slick animated kung fu comic style, while Spin Spin Sugar leaned into a familiar candy setup, and Magic Jokers pushes the shared formula further with a joker/harlequin skin. Maybe Jade Shuriken was simply too specific to appeal to the broader crowd Slingshot Studios targets with candy or joker themes. Or perhaps its low volatility/low potential didn’t quite match the intensity of its warrior battles?

So what’s the takeaway? Magic Jokers lands in that middle ground—neither particularly bad nor especially memorable. Like the title it’s based on, it delivers a more involved prize-ladder approach than a straight 9 Masks of Fire imitation, while also letting players tweak the free spins experience through the Upsizer feature depending on preference or budget. The higher-tier potential is respectable, everything runs smoothly, and beyond that there isn’t a whole lot more to add.

All things considered, Magic Jokers fits into the lineup reasonably well—about as well as Spin Spin Sugar did, which is to say, in a fairly average way. It doesn’t try to overwhelm with nonstop explosive effects like some joker-themed slots, but it’s also not as stripped-back as many entries in Play’n GO’s Joker series, for comparison.
