Lord Venom: Slot Overview
Lord Venom is the first online slot release from software provider Backseat Gaming. It’s a fitting title as well, bringing to mind that pesky little brother or mate who keeps telling you where to go, what to jump on, and what to shoot while they sit back and watch you play. In any case, Lord Venom arrives in partnership with Hacksaw Gaming via the latter’s Open RGS content distribution platform, so it’s easy to see why it gives off strong Hacksaw Gaming vibes. Put that to one side, though, as we head into the thick undergrowth for Backseat Gaming’s very first outing.
“Thick” is a solid way to sum up Lord Venom’s setting, since you’re clearly placed somewhere lush with greenery filling the backdrop. The game has a hot, misty, shadowy feel, like a jungle that turns seriously humid and sticky. A mysterious, snake-charmer-style soundtrack drifts through the air, and overall Lord Venom sets the scene nicely from the start.

Wrapped in creeping vines at the centre of the screen sits Lord Venom’s 5-reel, 5-row reel set. The game runs on 19 paylines, paying out when matching symbols connect along them across consecutive reels starting from the far left of the grid. There are four RTP versions available, with the top return to player set at 96.2%, increasing to 96.35% when the bonus round is purchased for 150 times the stake. Stakes range from 10 p/c to $/€100 per spin, and the math model is highly volatile (5/5).
A standout point for Lord Venom—particularly for a debut slot—is that Backseat Gaming avoids leaning on tired slot staples. Even the pay symbols feel fresh, with low pays made up of a chopped orange, grapes, avocado, and dragon fruit, followed by higher pays featuring a monkey, crocodile, elephant, and tiger. A 5-of-a-kind win returns 2 times the bet for the low symbols and 10 to 20 times the bet for the high symbols. A snake (perhaps Lord Venom?) appears on the wild symbols, which can land on all reels. Wilds substitute for any standard pay symbol and pay 30x the bet if 5 wilds complete a winning line.
Lord Venom: Slot Features

Backseat Gaming doesn’t overcomplicate the feature set here. The main mechanics are Jungle Bush mystery symbols and a Bonus feature powered by an increasing multiplier.
Jungle Bush
Whenever Jungle Bush symbols land, they transform to reveal one of the paying symbols. Every Jungle Bush symbol on the screen will change into the same symbol type.
Bonus Feature
Hitting at least 3 scatter symbols in the base game on the same spin activates the Bonus feature. When 3, 4, or 5 scatters land, players receive 12, 14, or 16 free spins. In free spins, Jungle Bush symbols can uncover Golden Egg symbols. Each Golden Egg revealed carries a multiplier value of x1-x10, x25, x50, x100, or x200. Each multiplier amount is added to a global Win Multiplier displayed at the top of the reels. This global Win Multiplier does not reset until the feature finishes. The Win Multiplier then multiplies the value of every winning line by its current total. Players are awarded +5 free spins when 3 scatter symbols appear during the feature.

Lord Venom: Slot Verdict
That’s the package: not overly long, but neatly put together. Overall, Lord Venom is a respectable first slot—neither a jaw-dropper nor something that leaves a bad taste. It likely helped that Backseat Gaming had a proven studio like Hacksaw Gaming alongside them, which may have smoothed out rough edges and delivered Lord Venom in a familiar style in terms of UI and game sheet presentation. More broadly, the gameplay—with its expanding win multiplier driven by Golden Egg symbols—feels like a concept Hacksaw Gaming could have produced. It also seems to borrow from elsewhere, with elements that clearly echo the vibe of Push Gaming’s Big Bamboo slot.
More specifically, it feels like something Hacksaw Gaming might have released earlier on, before the studio really hit its stride and started exploring more complex multiplier implementations. Spending time with Lord Venom actually highlights how inventive Hacksaw Gaming’s more recent ideas can be. That said, this isn’t meant to knock Lord Venom. For a first attempt, Backseat Gaming has largely avoided missteps. Lord Venom has a fair bit of personality; the visuals are strong, the audio fits perfectly, and while the mechanics are straightforward in places, they can still escalate quickly when Golden Eggs reveal big multipliers. The full setup supports wins up to 15,000 times the bet, giving players a meaningful top-end target.
All told, Lord Venom is an encouraging debut. It isn’t the slot to pick if you’re chasing the newest evolution of multiplier features—at least not yet, as Hacksaw Gaming still leads that particular charge. Even so, while Lord Venom’s approach is a touch simpler by comparison, it can still make that simplicity work effectively.
