In Ancient China the people were terrorised by a monstrous beast with the head of a lion who would come down from the mountain to destroy crops and eat the villagers. The creature arrived at the beginning of every new year, earning the name Nian, which also means Year. Over time, the villagers learned the beast feared extremely loud sounds, bright light, and the colour red.

They crafted their own likeness of the beast, and two brave villagers hid inside it. The others lit firecrackers and struck drums and gongs. The plan succeeded, and Nian fled back to the mountains, leaving everyone unharmed. Today, Nian lives on through the Lion Dance seen at Chinese New Year celebrations, alongside loud firecrackers and red lanterns

Cascading reels
Whenever a win lands, the winning symbols disappear and fresh symbols drop down onto the reel. This cascade process repeats until no further winning combinations can be formed.

Wilds
Wilds can replace any symbol apart from Scatters. Battle of the Nian:

• Landing 3 or more Scatter symbols activates the Battle of the Nian feature and awards 15 Free Games. Every spot containing a triggering Scatter symbol turns into a level 1 firework position.
• If more scatters appear, they upgrade the poisition, up to a maximum level of 3.
• Once the Battle of the Nian Feature ends, all activated positions pay out based on the level achieved.

• Level 2: 1.67-5x bet
• Level 3 6.67-16.67x bet, Minor Prize of 33.33x bet or Major Prize of 166.67x bet
• When every position is upgraded to level 3, the Prize of 5000x bet is awarded.

Feature buy lets the player instantly start the Battle of the Nian Feature and awarding 15 free spins. The activation cost is equal to 60x total bet.

Legendary Battle of the Nian – How to Play

To play, the player chooses a bet amount and then presses the spin button to set the reels in motion. The game pays on 243 ways. If the player lands at least 3 matching symbols across 3 reels starting from the leftmost reel, a win is paid.

• Symbol “Wild” substitutes for any symbol
• 3 or more Scatter symbols triggers the Battle of Nian Feature and awards 15 free spins
• Fully upgrading the reel positions during Battle of Nian feature triggers the Prize.
• After each win, winning symbols are removed and new symbols cascade onto the reel. The cascade sequence continues until no additional winning combinations are possible.
