Developer Push Gaming is well known for taking a careful, unhurried approach to polishing its slots before launch, making sure every detail meets their standards. With that in mind, it’s been a while since our last visit to the Mesopotamian sands of Wheel of Wonders. Now, instead of ancient history, we’re stepping into a fresh world with a slot called Land of Zenith. Centered on a retro-futuristic theme, it’s been paired with several clever additions, with the Hypermode mechanic clearly being the headline act.

Land of Zenith’s setting is officially labelled Sky Pirates, though there’s an unmistakable Steampunk feel throughout. As a result, players should expect lots of contraptions, airborne vehicles, and eccentric explorer/inventor-style characters. Action plays out on a 6-reel, 30-payline machine framed by brass styling, including the crucial Disc Mechanism. Around the edges of the display, floating cities drift through the clouds while flying craft move between them. Sound-wise, Land of Zenith’s soundtrack stays fairly restrained—dreamy in tone, though at times it arguably could have used a little more punch.

Still, don’t settle in too much, because Land of Zenith is every bit as highly volatile as you’d expect from Push Gaming. Hypermode Free Spins can go completely off the rails once they’re properly ramped up, as seen before in Joker Troupe, but outside of that they can be less productive. With a theoretical return setting of 96.29%, journeys to the Land of Zenith are available on any device, with stakes ranging from 10 p/c to $/€100.

The game’s bespoke symbols are split into four groups – low, mid, high, and super high. Low symbols are moons, planets, stars, and suns styled like jewellery, while the mids include data slates, butterflies, and robot owls. Premiums come in the form of three character symbols, paying 75 to 100 times your stake for six of a kind. At the top sits the only Super High symbol: a quirky top-hat-wearing fellow, paying 200x for a line of six. Boosting potential is a wild crest symbol, which matches the Super High symbol’s value and substitutes for all other symbols.

Land of Zenith: Slot Features

Land of Zenith relies on a Disc Mechanism to activate 2 bonus features – a Bouncing Mystery feature and Hypermode free spins. The Disc Mechanism consists of three separate discs that move independently: inner, middle, and outer. When turner symbols land on reels 2, 4, or 6, they rotate the discs in specific ways.

When 1 groove on each of the three discs lines up, the Bouncing Mystery feature is triggered. An orb then fires from the centre of the reels in a random direction. Each time it hits a reel edge, it creates a mystery symbol. In addition, orbs can split into two, and if 2 orbs collide, they disappear and leave 5 mystery symbols arranged in a cross. Once all orbs are gone, the mystery symbols reveal a random matching symbol and the win is evaluated.

At the beginning of any spin, the Disc Mechanism can randomly turn gold. If the Mechanism is gold when the grooves on all three discs align, Hypermode free spins begin. Here, rather than receiving a fixed number of spins, you’re given 20 seconds of them. Each time a wild lands during free spins, the reel speed ramps up and the Retrigger Meter fills partially. When the meter is completely filled, a retrigger happens and 10 more seconds are added to the clock. Retriggers have no limit and, additionally, the first 4 retriggers remove each of the low pay symbols one by one. Naturally, with low-value symbols no longer getting in the way of big combinations, your odds of connecting huge wins rise significantly.

Land of Zenith: Slot Verdict

Land of Zenith carries that unmistakable Push Gaming finish, and it’s obvious the studio again took the time required to reach a result they were satisfied with. The payoff is a highly polished package across the board, from the visuals and richly built world to the slick animations and seamless shifts between game states. Some players may debate the grid configuration, but the comparatively modest payline count doesn’t hold back the game’s overall delivery.

Hypermode free spins are the main attraction, and they’re just as distinctive and intense in Land of Zenith as they were before. They’re also brutally volatile. Some bonus rounds delivered almost nothing, finishing below 1x the stake. But, as with Joker Troupe, when things swing your way it becomes pure chaos—reels accelerating while low pay symbols get wiped out. In those moments, when volatility lands on the generous side, Land of Zenith turns into a heart-thumping rush and can produce serious payouts. The game sheet lists max win as technically ‘infinite’, though as a reference point, the biggest recorded hit cited by Push Gaming was 21,003 times the bet.

On the downside, the steampunk styling can feel somewhat familiar, almost like it was lifted straight from Cazino Zeppelin. And while Land of Zenith isn’t the constant stream of new ideas that Joker Troupe was, that won’t necessarily be a negative for everyone. Where Joker Troupe leaned a little too far into complexity, Land of Zenith takes Hypermode and simplifies the direction. There are also a few concerns with the base game, which comes across as a touch underpowered. The Bouncing mystery feature ultimately boils down to a dressed-up mystery feature, raising the question of whether it’s enough to keep players engaged through the base-game grind.

All things considered, Land of Zenith is still an excellent slot, with the strengths clearly outweighing the drawbacks. The craftsmanship is top-tier, the potential is strong, and the excitement level is high—especially when Hypermode kicks into overdrive and delivers those stomach-turning moments.
