King’s Mask Eclipse of Gods: Slot Overview
When some people take a break or head off on holiday, they like to do something different, visit somewhere unfamiliar, or at least avoid repeating the same old routine. Others stick to what they know, returning to the same place again and again, like settling into a favourite worn-in spot on the sofa. Software developer Play’n GO clearly falls into the second camp with its ongoing fascination for Ancient Egypt. As if the catalogue wasn’t already packed, here comes yet another trip to that exotic era. King’s Mask Eclipse of Gods is the latest, and it’s a spin-off from an earlier slot, King’s Mask, with much of the action channelled through 3 different wild symbol capabilities, respins, and free spins.
If you’ve played Play’n GO Egyptian slots before, you probably already have a good idea of what the next one will look like. King’s Mask Eclipse of Gods fits that mould, blending a mildly retro feel with solid depictions of the theme. Nothing is especially surprising; it’s pyramids, statues, and the usual scenery, but at least it’s easy on the eyes.

Most of that old-school vibe comes from the reel frame, while the setup itself is a standard 5-reels, 3-rows, and 20 paylines. Behind the scenes sits a highly volatile math model offered in multiple RTP versions. The top return is 96.29%, and the betting range runs from 20 c to £/€100.
There are eleven pay symbols in total, made up of 9-A card rank lows, plus an Ankh, leaf, Sobek, Anubis, and Horus as the premium icons. A 5-of-a-kind line of the royals returns 5-6.25 times your stake, while 5 matching high pays award 12.5-37.5 times the stake. Wilds can appear on every reel and deliver a hefty 500x for a 5-wild line. In all other cases, wilds substitute for any regular paying symbol.
King’s Mask Eclipse of Gods: Slot Features

On the feature side, King’s Mask Eclipse of Gods includes random wild features and respins in the base game, plus a free spins round where players select which wild feature they want active.
Wild Features
Wild features have a chance of activating in the base game during an eclipse. Which wild feature you get is random, and players can’t affect what triggers – unlike in free spins. Once activated, the base game wild feature runs for 3 respins, regardless of which one appears:
- Multiplier Wilds – all wins are multiplied by x2. Multiplier values are not additive or cumulative.
- Sticky Wilds – remains on the reels until the end of the feature.
- Walking Wilds – remain for the next spin and move 1 reel to the right on each new respin. Walking Wilds move off the reels from the rightmost reel.
Free Spins
Free spins start when 3 or more scatters land on the reels. Landing 4 scatters also pays 20x the bet, while triggering with 5 scatters awards 100x the bet. Players choose the wild feature they want to use. The round begins with 10 free spins, regardless of the feature selected.

King’s Mask Eclipse of Gods: Slot Verdict
With Play’n GO having built so many Ancient Egypt slots over the years, King’s Mask Eclipse of Gods feels like something the team barely had to think about. It lands in the middle in a lot of areas. Starting with presentation, the art is perfectly competent, but compared with much of the market—and even by Play’n GO’s own standards—King’s Mask Eclipse of Gods looks very much like business as usual. Not much pops, and there’s little the studio hasn’t already shown players before. It’s attractive enough and arguably more engaging than King’s Mask visually, yet it still feels underwhelming in places.
A similar verdict can be made about King’s Mask Eclipse of Gods’ features too. There’s more going on than in the earlier game, although removing the win multiplier from the free spins round may feel like a negative to some players. Base-game respins with a wild feature are fine, and free spins with a chosen wild feature are decent—certainly not awful. Still, the multiplier is often restricted because it’s always a flat x2, regardless of how many appear. Sticky wilds can be painfully scarce, to the extent that a bonus round might produce only a single one, and the walking wilds? Take it or leave it.
That said, one thing that really grabs attention is King’s Mask Eclipse of Gods’ maximum win of 20,000 times the bet, shown both on the info screen and in a message beneath the reels. That’s twice the cap offered in King’s Mask. Imagining it being hit brings to mind huge runs of multiplied 5-wild lines or reels completely soaked in sticky wilds during a super-charged free spins session. Maybe one day a fortunate player will catch King’s Mask Eclipse of Gods at its absolute peak and show what it looks like—though considering how infrequently Play’n GO mega wins seem to land, it’s not something to count on.
Take away that headline figure and King’s Mask Eclipse of Gods comes across as fairly average. Even with the huge upside included, it didn’t generate much excitement, delivering a mix of improvements and drawbacks compared to the previous release.
