In the base game, this feature starts when the GOLD WILD lands STACKED on reel 1. A re-spin is then triggered, and any SILVER WILD that lands on reels 2, 3, 4 or 5 expands to fill every position on its reel. Any HERO symbol that appears on the same reel as a SILVER WILD increases the spin’s win multiplier by 1. Any Scatter symbol (SHIELD) that lands on the same reel as a SILVER WILD awards 1 extra re-spin. The maximum possible win multiplier per Rally Spin is x5.

Landing 3, 4 or 5 Scatter Shield symbols awards 15, 20 or 25 free spins respectively. The free spins round plays the same as the main game, with one major advantage – if the GOLD WILD lands only partially on reel 1, it is nudged to initiates the Rally the Troops feature. In addition, 5 or 10 EXTRA free spins are randomly awarded whenever the GOLD WILD stack lands fully on reel 1 without nudging. Free spins can also be re-triggered.

Kingdom’s Edge Conclusion

Kingdom’s Edge isn’t NextGen’s strongest release, though it’s far from their weakest. The gameplay is all about the Rally Spins, which is where most of the upside sits. If you hit a full screen of expanded wilds with the maximum x5 multiplier, it returns 3000x, so there’s certainly respectable potential on offer. In our experience, Kingdom’s Edge played fairly generously and the bonus didn’t feel especially difficult to activate. On our test session we were very fortunate and hit a 300x win within just a few spins, which admittedly boosted our enjoyment more than it probably would have otherwise. It’s not a slot that’s going to grab headlines, but it’s still worth a spin or two if you enjoy expanding wilds as much as we do.
