Jaguar Super Ways : Slot Overview

Fresh on the scene, Bad Dingo wasted no time partnering with Yggdrasil to launch their first slot, Jaguar SuperWays, through the YGS Masters Program. This debut isn’t a tentative effort, either. The Sydney studio has introduced an original mechanic built to generate a jaw-dropping number of win ways. The upside is strong too, although perhaps not as extreme as the ways count might suggest. If that sounds appealing, it’s time to head into the jungle and take a closer look.

From the look of the interface, it seems likely fellow Aussies ReelPlay may have helped shape the design. That would track, since both studios call sunny Sydney home. The Central American rainforest setting in Jaguar SuperWays is probably bright too, but the heavy treetop cover blocks much of the light. In the warm, sticky shade sits a grid that begins each spin in a 5-reel, 3-row default layout, offering 243 ways to win. A pounding EDM soundtrack feels oddly mismatched for the theme, although ‘bush doofs’ are a thing in Australia, so perhaps that’s where the inspiration came from.

Jaguar SuperWays runs on any device, though on mobile the display can feel a bit cramped because the grid can expand dramatically. A tougher point to overlook is the theoretical return. At 94.3%, it’s the lowest non-jackpot figure we’ve come across in quite some time. It’s low enough to be a deal-breaker regardless of how entertaining the features are. Volatility is set to medium, and the game hits 41.28% of the time on average, which is high versus most slots.

The paytable includes 10 symbols: 6 low-pay 9 to A card royals, plus 4 higher-value icons. The premiums are a gem, a frog, a snake, and a vulture. Payouts depend on how many reels are active, with 5 of a kind paying from 0.375x to 1.25x the bet, and 6 of a kind paying from 3.75x to 12.5x. Jaguars serve as the wild symbol, substituting for everything except the temple scatters.

Jaguar SuperWays – free spins

The standout element in Jaguar SuperWays is the SuperWays system, which reshapes the grid in a variety of unusual ways. Alongside it sits a comparatively straightforward free spins round that feels less exciting than the main mechanic.

At the heart of the action is the cascade mechanic. Whenever a win lands, the winning symbols disappear and fresh ones fall into the empty spaces. As a small extra detail for players who like every statistic available, cascades can run for up to 15 in total, or stop earlier if no further wins appear.

SuperWays activate when small paw icons randomly appear over standard paying symbols. If a symbol marked with a paw is part of a win, a 3×3 sized mega paw print tile stamps over that position. The symbols underneath are cleared along with the winning combination, and the 3×3 area becomes live, so new symbols can cascade into it too. This added space stays in play for the rest of that cascade chain. Once the sequence ends, the grid returns to its default size.

As SuperWays open up more room for symbols to drop, the number of win ways also ramps up massively. The grid can expand to a maximum of 9×9, and at that point an outright absurd 387,420,489 ways to win are available.

The free spins feature starts when 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, or 8 scatters land, awarding 7, 10, 12, 15, 18, or 20 free spins, respectively. The key difference is that the default grid becomes 5×4; beyond that, the rules match the base game. In the base game, scatters can land on all reels except the first reel, which means free spins can’t be retriggered.

Jaguar SuperWays: Slot Verdict

Jaguar SuperWays puts up some seriously impressive figures, and in real play it can deliver some strong moments. When it doesn’t, the game can feel a touch unstable, like the whole grid might topple in a gust. The clash between visuals and audio may also grate on some players. And while the music has a fun 80s martial-arts-movie vibe, it doesn’t really suit the jungle backdrop. It’s not the Academy Awards, but the finer points still count.

Even so, Jaguar SuperWays is a compelling debut from Bad Dingo. Instead of playing it safe, they’ve taken a bold swing with a brand-new mechanic, and it’s certainly attention-grabbing, creating a huge range of outcomes. The potential doesn’t fully match the headline 380 million+ ways, but it’s still respectable, with players able to win up to 22,457 times their stake. How often that’s realistically achievable is unclear, so it’s best viewed with a healthy dose of caution.

Feature-wise, the SuperWays idea is genuinely smart. It feels distinctive and offers a welcome change from studios copying existing systems too closely or simply trademarking a fixed number of ways as if no one else can use them. Even without ever hitting the full 9×9 grid, Jaguar SuperWays can still grow to ridiculous sizes. Much like ELK’s Nitropolis, which also delivered an enormous ways count, you may end up wondering whether quite so many are necessary when the max win can ‘only’ reach 22,457x.

While the upside is notable, the disappointing RTP setup is harder to ignore and drags the package down. Why Bad Dingo chose to go this low is anyone’s guess, but it’s unfortunate, as it puts a stain on the rest of what the game offers and could make Jaguar SuperWays a non-starter for players who expect better.
