Immortal Romance Vein of Gold: Slot Overview
Back when the studio was still called Microgaming (and, depending on who you ask, still mattered), Games Global launched what went on to become one of the benchmark vampire slots around: Immortal Romance. What might have been a cringe-worthy “Twilight-on-the-reels” moment instead delivered an engaging story of undead passion. Fast-forward a good few years and partner Stormcraft Studios produced Immortal Romance 2—perfectly serviceable, but it didn’t quite recreate what made the original stand out. Taking the “try again” approach, Stormcraft Studios has returned to the amorous vampires with Immortal Romance Vein of Gold.
The four characters introduced in IR2 show up again in Immortal Romance Vein of Gold, although the romance angle itself feels a bit muted—depending on taste, that may be a plus or a minus. The base game sits on a fiery red backdrop, shifting to yellow hues for the Vein of Gold bonus and purple shades during free spins. It looks fine overall, though it doesn’t do much to impress, which hints at what’s ahead.

The action takes place on a gold-edged 6×4 grid. Immortal Romance Vein of Gold runs on a ways mechanic, offering 4,096 possible winning routes. Volatility is highly volatile, and there are three RTP options available, with the top setting at 96%. Bets range from 20 c to $/€50 per spin, and players can also purchase entry to bonus rounds if they prefer.
Pay symbols include blood-red J-A card ranks, then a fountain, a gate, a book, plus 4 character icons. Hitting 6-of-a-kind, the Jack through gate symbols return 1 to 1.4 times the bet, while the remaining symbols pay 2 to 5 times the bet for 6 OAK. Wilds can land on every reel except the far-left reel in the base game, and on reels 2, 3, and 4 during free spins. They replace all symbols apart from scatters, Cash, or Collect.
Immortal Romance Vein of Gold: Slot Features

This part comes with plenty of explanation, but the core mechanics are straightforward: a Collect setup, respins, Jackpot rewards, a Bonus Multiplier, two bonus modes, plus bonus buys.
Collect Feature & Respins
Immortal Romance Vein of Gold includes Collect symbols and Cash symbols. Collect symbols can appear on the leftmost and rightmost reel, and when they land together with Cash symbols, the amounts shown on all Cash symbols are awarded. If a Collect symbol lands with no Cash symbols and no bonus is triggered, it grants 1 respin. The leftmost and rightmost reels remain locked while reels 2-4 respin to try to land Cash symbols or blanks. At least one Cash symbol is guaranteed to appear.
Rising Rewards Jackpot
When a Cash symbol without Collect symbols lands, it builds up tokens in the base game. As tokens are gathered, they increase at least one Jackpot value. Collecting tokens also provides a chance of triggering the Jackpot feature in the base game, where Cash prizes and Jackpots can be won – at least one Jackpot is awarded. Jackpot ranges are 5x-25x for the Mini, 10x-50x for the Minor, 100x-250x for the Major, and 1,000x-2,500x for the Mega.
Rising Rewards Multiplier
The Bonus Multiplier is shown on a meter, and it can be increased during the base game. This multiplier affects all wins in both free spins and the Vein of Gold rounds. Its amount increases by 0.5x when 2 scatters land in the base game without setting off the Bonus Choice, up to a maximum of x5. It resets to x1 once free spins or Vein of Gold ends, though it may randomly increase by 0.5x to 1x upon returning to the base game.
Bonus Features
Hitting 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters awards 8 free spins or 2 Vein of Gold spins, 12 free spins or 3 Vein of Gold spins, 20 free spins or 5 Vein of Gold spins, or 30 free spins or 7 Vein of Gold spins, respectively. Players choose between free spins and Vein of Gold spins when the feature triggers.
- Free Spins – For each wild involved in a winning way, an x2, x3, or x5 multiplier is randomly assigned. Each wild multiplier boosts the win on that specific way, while the Bonus Multiplier multiplies the total win for the spin. Retriggering happens when 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters land, awarding +5, +8, +12, +20 or +30 free spins, respectively. Curiously, the 4 highest-paying symbols are excluded from free spins.
- Vein of Gold – In this mode, standard pay symbols don’t appear, but every spin guarantees a Collect symbol to gather any Cash symbols, meaning each spin results in a win. Collect Retrigger symbols and Retrigger symbols can also land. The Collect Retrigger collects all Cash symbols and grants +1 spin, while the Retrigger symbol grants +1 free spin only. Cash symbols worth up to 100x the bet can appear during the feature, and the Bonus Multiplier multipliers the total win of each spin.
Feature Buy
Players can purchase immediate entry to the Bonus Choice associated with 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters for 30x, 50x, 80x, or 120x the bet, respectively.

Immortal Romance Vein of Gold: Slot Verdict
It’s probably fair to say that if Immortal Romance 2 left you cold, Immortal Romance Vein of Gold won’t suddenly raise your pulse. Games Global and its partners have been producing this style of slot for a long time, and it’s evident here. Even with a strong lineage, Immortal Romance Vein of Gold ultimately plays like a standard Cash collect title with Jackpots and a pair of bonus modes bolted on. It’s a familiar template. As an example, Fortune Factory Studios’ similarly structured Mask of Amun was reviewed around mid-2022, and Immortal Romance Vein of Gold doesn’t feel meaningfully evolved from that point.
Put simply, the base game revolves around gathering Cash symbols and tokens while players hope enough scatters arrive to kick off the Bonus Choice. A difficult decision? Potentially. Vein of Gold spins will suit anyone who enjoys constant collecting, while free spins introduce wild multipliers to help elevate payouts. Both are enhanced by the Bonus Multiplier, which can be built up in the base game, and the Jackpot values remain visible throughout as an incentive. To reach their full (though still capped) strength, Jackpots need to be increased in the main game—an approach that will appeal to some players and put others off. Whether maxed out or not, the Mega Jackpot isn’t massive, but the game’s overall win potential of 5,500x is still better than getting your neck drained by a Nosferatu.
Even so, it’s difficult to shake the feeling that Immortal Romance Vein of Gold doesn’t make the most of the Immortal Romance IP, using it mainly as a wrapper for a set of familiar, arguably overused mechanics. Still, the Games Global team clearly enjoys these kinds of add-ons, so this is another entry that fans of the formula may be happy to sink their teeth into.
