Relax Gaming is one of the rising studios we expected to make a major leap this year. After kicking things off in style with Temple Tumble Megaways earlier in the year, the pace has felt a little quieter. Of the titles released since, King of Kings and Caveman Bob have been solid enough, while others—like the recent Jupiters Choice,—were so flat we couldn’t even find the motivation to cover them.

Even though Relax Gaming’s only Megaways release turned out great for them, they’ve also shown they don’t need that mechanic to deliver. And if you’re looking to step away from complex, feature-stacked, multi-payline slots for a bit, Ignite the Night can be a welcome change of pace. Set on a tropical island and built around just 10 paylines, this beautifully presented 5-reel, 3-row slot includes a core feature called the Fire Multipliers feature, where a random high-paying symbol is given a 5x multiplier. That same feature can also randomly enhance high-paying symbol wins with multipliers reaching up to 50x. Critics will say the gameplay can feel repetitive, and that the base game is harsh, with limited support from its single main game feature. And it’s true—Ignite the Night won’t appeal to everyone, particularly players who need lots of features to stay engaged.

When you play Ignite the Night, you should be prepared for some brutal dry stretches in the base game, along with plenty of scatter near-misses that only add to the frustration. But once the bonus finally lands and you see what it can do, it’s tough not to get pulled in. With multipliers that keep upgrading and a strong chance of retriggers, the tension rises with every spin, with the potential to reach wins of more than 5700 times your stake. It’s genuinely nice to see a straightforward 10-payline slot executed this effectively.
