It may have benefited if Gameburger had taken the Vegas theme even further and fully embraced the excess. There’s plenty of shimmer already, but paired with the laid-back soundtrack, it felt more like waiting outside in the casino line than cutting loose in the heart of a buzzing gambling hall.

Honestly, this one didn’t click for us. Even with all the shine and showmanship, Hyper Star’s look and overall play style have been seen countless times, leaving it feeling a little synthetic. It clearly tries to mask the familiar foundation with lots of flashing lights and imitation Vegas dressing, but it ends up feeling like it’s loitering off the strip after a pricey travel package went wrong. That said, players who enjoy this particular feature mix will likely welcome another glossy entry. For everyone else, Hyper Star offers everyday gameplay that’s widely available elsewhere.

There isn’t a great deal more to say about the feature set because it’s the kind most players already know well. Rolling Reels pair nicely with the 243 ways to win format, and having Multiplier Trails in both modes is a plus. This formula has been popular ever since games like Gonzo’s Quest helped make it mainstream and it still holds up today. Fans tracking Gameburger’s ‘Hyper’ series may appreciate a title that doesn’t mirror the 9 Masks of Fire approach the way Hyper Strike or Hyper Joker did. Even so, the core blueprint remains similar, with spins geared toward chasing jackpot prizes. In terms of top-end rewards, Hyper Star’s Grand jackpot is more than double what’s on offer in the two Hyper games mentioned, though the overall potential is roughly comparable, topping out at 7,250 times the stake.

Hyper Star performs perfectly fine at what it sets out to do, but its offering felt too familiar to get excited about. After trying it out, we had little reason to seek out Hyper Star again.
