For starters, the UI feels dated, and the reel animations have a noticeable, distracting jerkiness. The backdrop art is quite nice, but the loud, garish symbols undermine it and seem mismatched. Overall, it feels uneven, as if there’s no clear through-line—or at least not one strong enough to tie everything together.

Even so, the theme is a bit difficult to grasp and doesn’t fully come together. That alone isn’t fatal, but once the reels got rolling, Hunters Moon Gigablox still didn’t quite click.

You do get the familiar Gigablox experience—random symbol sizes and merged reels, which can be entertaining—but it’s also something we’ve seen a number of times now. With Gigablox titles becoming increasingly common, if the theme or added elements don’t land, it’s tough to stop the rest from feeling average. That’s largely how Hunters Moon Gigablox played during the review. It delivered its core gameplay, occasionally spiking excitement when huge blocks looked ready to drop, and the bonus reel created some tense moments. Still, it felt like the slot could have used an extra feature, or perhaps a visual tidy-up. It’s difficult to pinpoint, but something seemed absent. Maybe a couple of additional modifiers on the bonus reel would have boosted the momentum and given players more to dig into. The bonus reel idea is fine, yet it’s a long way from titles like Punk Rocker or Nitropolis 2, which use a comparable concept to stronger effect.
