Hot Rod Racers: Slot Overview
Put the tools down for a moment, because software provider Relax Gaming is rolling in with an automotive-themed slot called Hot Rod Racers. By the time of writing, a few high-octane car slots like Road Rage and Mad Cars had already hit the road; now it’s Relax Gaming’s turn to get the bonnet up and see what’s under the hood. Enough motoring metaphors (for now). What we’re introducing is an online slot packed with muscle cars, Wheelspin Wilds – sticky during free spins, a progressive multiplier element, and a pair of bonus buy choices.
The Hot Rod Racers base game takes place inside a garage crammed with cars in different stages of being fixed up. The lineup is made up of brightly painted muscle cars just waiting to be unleashed on open asphalt, with nobody around to stop the driver from flooring it and finding out what all that tuning was worth. A gritty rock track plays over the action, like it’s blasting from an old plastic stereo in the corner of a dusty workshop, while mechanics fuss over engines and bodywork, polishing here, adjusting there, and chasing every last bit of horsepower.

There isn’t much to fault in the engine driving Hot Rod Racers, assuming you’re the kind of player who enjoys highly volatile spins. The standard RTP is 96%, increasing to a neat 97% if you purchase either bonus round. It runs smoothly across devices, and players can choose stakes from 10 p/ to $/€40 per spin before firing it up with the spin button.
Once you do, the 5-reel grid starts turning. Each reel displays 4 symbols each, and there are 30 paylines for landing three to five matching symbols. Winning combinations must begin on reel one and continue across consecutive reels to count. At the lower end of the paytable are diamonds, hearts, clubs, and spades, paying 2.5x the bet for five of a kind, followed by blue, green, red, and purple hot rods as the premium set, where five matching premium symbols return 5-10x the bet. Now, let’s get into the fun stuff.
Hot Rod Racers: Slot Features

To start, there are Wheelspin Wilds, which can appear on reels 2-5. Wheelspin Wilds substitute for any standard pay symbol, and when they land, they transform any high-paying car symbols positioned to their left into wilds. If a Wheelspin Wild, or a high-pay symbol that has already been transformed, is triggered by another Wheelspin Wild, a +1 multiplier is added to them. A five-wild line pays 20x the bet.
Free Spins
Scatter symbols can land on the three middle reels, and seeing 3 triggers 10 free spins. In free spins, Wheelspin Wilds become sticky when they appear, staying on the grid and activating their effect on every free spin as outlined above.
Super Free Spins
Super free spins are triggered when Nitro Wilds land on reels 1 and 5 at the same time as 3 scatters on reels 2-4. Just like the standard round, Wheelspin Wilds remain locked for the full feature and trigger their effect on each spin. In super free spins, any high pay symbol converted to a wild gets a +1 multiplier applied to its position. These multipliers are applied when a wild lands or when a conversion happens in that specific position. Multipliers do not reset between super free spins, so they stay active until the round ends and are capped at x5. If more than one multiplier is involved in a win, their values are multiplied together first.
Buy Feature
Players who are eligible have two feature-buy options available. You can purchase the standard free spins round for 100x the bet, or buy super free spins for 400x the bet.

Hot Rod Racers: Slot Verdict
If cars aren’t really your thing, Hot Rod Racer’s appeal may take a little longer to click. Being completely candid, Hot Rod Racers looks perfectly fine, yet there’s also a slight “budget” feel to parts of its presentation. It’s a bit like a hot rod owner who ran out of cash mid-upgrade and, instead of real chrome, went with silver-painted plastic. Then after a few drives, the silver coating starts to chip, exposing yellow plastic underneath. Hot Rod Racers doesn’t go that far, though, and the visuals stop being a distraction once the game’s strengths start to show.
The standout here—the flames on the doors or the fuzzy dice on the mirror, so to speak—is when the Wheelspin Wild mechanic begins building multipliers. It has a similar vibe to Road Rage with its fast-moving symbol action, but this version is more straightforward while still delivering big impact when it connects. The first time Hot Rod Racer really opened up was after purchasing super free spins, where a 7,000x win landed from a single free spin, seemingly from nowhere. Not truly from nowhere, since earlier spins had already stacked some solid position multipliers, but it felt like the nitrous had been engaged. It also brought to mind the sticky wild multiplier style seen in Top Dawg$. And like Top Dawg$, Hot Rod Racers has a win cap of 25,000x the bet, and based on what we observed in testing, it clearly has enough punch to potentially challenge that ceiling.
Super free spins may be the most exhilarating part of the package, but the base game and standard free spins have plenty going on too. The regular gameplay is punctuated by the Wheelspin Wild feature, which might not hit 0-60 in 2.8 seconds every time, yet it keeps things moving. So even if you’re not obsessed with fast cars, but you do enjoy the potential of multiplying multipliers, Hot Rod Racers offers a lot that could still leave you feeling the rush.
