Hope Diamond: Slot Overview
If you’re the type of player who enjoys stepping outside the usual and trying something different, Blueprint Gaming has put together a rather offbeat option. Mixing diamonds, horses, mines, and miner-ettes, Hope Diamond comes across like one of those “everything in the blender” slots where the goal is to see what sticks. Some players will appreciate the weird charm; others may just be left scratching their heads. It may not click right away, and by the time you reach the end of this review… it still might not. Either way, let’s dig in.
Hope Diamond runs on a straightforward 5-reel, 20-payline layout, set inside a glowing diamond mine—one of those cartoon-style tunnels where gems jut out of the walls, making it look like miners just need to pull them free and toss them into a cart. That’s the impression on the home screen, at least. Once the reels are spinning, the background becomes more of a soft pastel haze, while the reel frame is covered in stacks of shimmering, pulsing diamonds. It’s simple visually, but it does have a cozy, old-school vibe that some players may like.
Available on mobile, tablet, and desktop, Hope Diamond supports bets from 20 p/c per spin, rising as high as $/€500 in some cases. The theme won’t be for everyone, but the RTP rating of 96.51% is likely to appeal to most. Volatility should suit players who want some bite without going overboard—its medium/high level keeps the swings noticeable, but not wildly extreme.
To score wins in the mine, you’ll need three or more matching symbols for most icons, with the top premium being the exception as it only requires two to pay. The paytable includes 9 paying symbols: four royals (J-A) and five premium icons. From lowest to highest, the premiums are lanterns, mine carts, ponies, miner ladies, and the logo. Land full paylines of the high symbols to collect payouts of 10 – 25 times your stake.
The flaming bundle of dynamite is the wild, and it carries the same payout value as the top premium. It can substitute for any symbol except scatters or Money Symbols to help complete winning combinations.
Hope Diamond: Slot Features

Hope Diamond packs in more features than you might expect, including multiple modifiers, a collection mechanic, and two bonus rounds that feel closely related. At any point in the base game, one of four modifiers can randomly activate. When it does, three diamonds show up on the screen and the player picks one to reveal what’s inside. The chosen modifier is then applied to the next spin:
- Big Bang Dynamite Wilds – a random number of wilds land on the reels.
- Colossal Dynamite Wilds – a giant-sized wild will land in a random position turning up to 9 tiles wild.
- Explosive Dynamite Wilds – when wilds land on the next spin they explode turning more symbols wild.
- Diamonds Forever Bonus – 6 Money Scatter Symbols are added to the reels, guaranteeing the Diamonds Forever feature is triggered.
Separately, Money Scatter Symbols may appear at any time in the base game—landing 6 or more on screen activates the Diamonds Forever feature. Once triggered, the Money Scatters that started it stay locked in place. Every other position spins on its own, and only Money Scatter Symbols can land. The feature begins with 3 spins, and each new Money Scatter that appears becomes locked while the spin count is reset back to 3. The bonus finishes when the grid is full or the spins are used up, after which all Money Scatter values are totalled and paid out.
The last mechanic is the Diamond Trail. In the base game, every Bonus symbol that lands contributes to filling the bottom cart on the Diamond Trial shown to the left of the reels. Gathering 100 Bonus symbols completes all carts on the Diamond Trail and triggers Diamond Spins. This mode also starts with three spins, but unlike the other feature, the spins cannot be refreshed. On each spin, only Money Scatters are active, but they do not lock when they land. Instead, each one immediately adds its value to the prize pot, which is awarded at the end.
Hope Diamond: Slot Verdict
Hope Diamond opens with a name that sounds like it belongs to a daytime TV character, and it doesn’t do much to shift that initial vibe. The theme definitely won’t suit everyone, and it’s genuinely hard to say who this is aimed at. Bronies, maybe? No judgement either way. It stands out as one of Blueprint’s strangest creations, blending a My Little Pony-style feel with a more traditional, “slot-friendly” mining setting. And yes—the end result is every bit as odd as that sounds.
It’s not only the unusual theme that hints at a creative wobble; the feature set isn’t especially fresh either. Diamonds Forever is essentially a familiar hold-and-spin style mechanic, and Diamond Spins follows a very similar pattern. In testing, Diamond Spins generally delivered the better returns of the two, though the most exciting moment came from the Colossal Wild. The help file fine print notes a win cap of 50,000x, which feels a bit excessive.
If you’re looking for a more classic slot structure wrapped in a strange theme, you may still find something worthwhile here—assuming you’re willing to roll with the weirdness. There’s a decent number of features, even if none are particularly headline-grabbing. All told, this one probably belongs in the “miscellaneous” folder. Theme-wise, Hope Diamond is undeniably different, but it leans more into outright bizarre than charmingly quirky. Still, the RTP is fairly player-friendly and the potential is there, so it’s not a total miss. If the odd presentation and fairly standard gameplay don’t immediately put you off, it could be worth a spin.
