Hero Clash: Slot Overview
In Hero Clash, a joint online slot release from Stakelogic and Hurricane Games, players follow four heroes as they roam through separate realms, with four distinct bonus rounds waiting to be unleashed. These aren’t familiar faces either, as the studios created a fresh quartet called Charger, Slade, Hot Shots, and Sonic Boom. Each hero brings their own bonus round and a different set of superpower-style modifiers, all activated through a notably unusual and engaging collection mechanic.
Play for a while and you’ll rotate through four different settings. You begin in a forest, then shift to a rocky wasteland, followed by a lava-soaked area, and finally end up at the seaside. Beside the 5×3, 243 ways to win grid, one of the heroes stands watch, and while they’re brand-new creations, there’s a fun Zelda/Daphne/Nickelodeon vibe to the presentation that works well.
On the stats front, Hero Clash is released with a broad selection of RTP configurations to suit different markets, with 96.10% as the default. No matter which RTP version you encounter, volatility stays high, scored 5 out of 5 by the developer. Bets run from 10 p/c to either $/€50 or $/€100, depending on the casino. As expected, Hero Clash also includes Stakelogic’s Super Stake feature. Turning it on doubles the bet, and it also doubles the chance of Hero Power scatters appearing, which can mean more frequent feature action.
With 243 ways to win, payouts land when three to five identical symbols connect on adjacent reels from left to right starting on the first reel. There are 9 paying symbols in total: 5 lower-paying 9-A card royals, with the heroes acting as the premium symbols. Five matching hero symbols pay 8 to 14 times the stake. Five wilds pay the same as the top premium symbol, and wilds can also substitute for any paying symbol.
Hero Clash: Slot Features

Hero Clash plays out in a similar way to Play’n GO’s Gemix 2, sending players through multiple worlds and switching locations whenever bonus rounds activate. This happens once the Hero Meter beside the reels is fully powered up with 150 Hero Points. Non-paying Hero Power scatters can land on any reel, and seeing 2, 3, 4, or 5 of them awards 1, 50, 70, or 100 Hero Points to the meter. In addition, 1 hero point is granted on spins that produce no wins or land no Hero Power scatters. Also, landing 3 or more bonus symbols instantly completes the meter, regardless of its current level.
Filling the meter awards 12 free spins with an x2 multiplier. Each hero comes with a unique hero power modifier that can be applied during free spins, depending on which stage is triggered. There are 4 stages, and they always run in the same order:
- Stage 1 (Charger) – the symbol in the middle of the reels is a sticky wild. Charger fires arrows to apply an x1 to x5 multiplier to it.
- Stage 2 (Slade) – Slade randomly drops a 2×2 wild block into any position on any spin.
- Stage 3 (Hot Shots) – Hot Shots can place 1-8 wild symbols in any position on any spin.
- Stage 4 (Sonic Boom) – Sonic Boom can cover up to three of three middle reels with wild symbols on any spin.
Once the bonus round finishes, the base game resumes in a new location. Finally, if there’s one thing Stakelogic and its partners regularly include, it’s a gamble feature. In Hero Clash, it’s the familiar option to pick the colour or suit of a face-down card to double or quadruple your win. You can bank your winnings, gamble them, or disable the feature entirely if you prefer.
Hero Clash: Slot Verdict
When Stakelogic/Hurricane Games really focus, they’re capable of producing some genuinely solid slots. The previous title reviewed, Candyways Bonanza Megaways, was a quirky spin on BTG’s engine that gave Megaways fans something a little different to try. Hero Clash holds up well too. There’s plenty to enjoy here, including the world-hopping approach, where changing backdrops lead into new bonus rounds. Building a cast of unknown heroes can be a gamble, but this slightly silly yet likeable crew adds both character and feature variety. In several respects, Hero Clash carries a similar feel to Microgaming’s Dragonz slot.
The features themselves aren’t especially groundbreaking, largely focused on throwing wilds onto the reels, with a multiplier popping up now and then for extra punch. Where it comes together is the ways system, which makes those wild additions count. Combine that with the trigger method, and you get a lively, quick-moving slot where something engaging is either happening right now or close to kicking off.
The Hero Meter also deserves attention. While landing three bonus symbols gives you immediate access to the free spins round, the wider collection setup is smartly put together as well. It encourages continued play because you can roughly gauge when the next bonus is likely to arrive. With the Super Stake option enabled, features appeared very often. Even without it, it didn’t take long to work through all four bonus rounds. Lastly, there’s the win potential, and Hero Clash delivers, offering prizes of up to 5,000x the stake.
Hurricane Games has created a straightforwardly entertaining slot with Hero Clash. They’ve done well to keep the many moving parts from feeling cluttered or confusing; there’s depth, but not so much that it overwhelms, allowing the game to stay focused on fun. It won’t redefine the genre, but it’s highly enjoyable, offers plenty to uncover, and is loaded with charm.
