Hell’s Hogs 2 Squealin’ Wheels fits that bill. The original Hell’s Hog didn’t exactly set the world alight in our review, and a follow-up never really seemed on the cards. Still, someone in gambling land must have been into it, because here we are with part two. That said, there are a few question marks. Beyond the pigs-on-bikes theme, Hell’s Hogs 2 Squealin’ Wheels feels like a notably different beast. Volatility has been pushed the other way, and the overall win potential has been cut down dramatically.

So the big question is whether Hell’s Hogs 2 Squealin’ Wheels is meant for the same crowd as the first game, a totally new audience, or something else altogether. Hard to say. Stat-wise, sequels often crank up the maximum win compared to the original—but that’s not the case here. Hell’s Hogs 2 Squealin’ Wheels reduces the max win to 2,500x the bet, which is under a quarter of what the first release offered (even if we didn’t witness any huge hits on it). It’s strange that the original was a low volatile 10,000x+ max win slot, while part two is a med-high volatile 2,500x game.

Then again, it’s debatable whether either Hell’s Hogs title is really aimed at players who scrutinise every last stat before committing their bankroll. Instead, it seems better suited to those who genuinely enjoy the piggy bikers concept and Reflex Gaming’s uniquely quirky approach to building a slot, with everything that comes with it. Anyone outside that niche may find Hell’s Hogs 2 Squealin’ Wheels even tougher to swallow than the first.
