Three Bounty Chests sit above the reels. When Token symbols land, they contribute 1-7 points to a Bounty Chest and are then removed. On rare occasions, Tokens can add points to all Chests, and each Chest can store up to 7 points.

• Green Bounty Chest – 5 or 6 points award a cluster of 3 or 4 matching symbols to the grid. 7 points award a cluster of 5 or 6 matching symbols. Wilds cannot be added, and added symbols do not replace existing wilds.
• Blue Bounty Chest – 5 or 6 points award 1 or 2 wild symbols. 7 points award 3 or 4 wild symbols. Wilds are not added on top of other wilds. In regards to Green and Blue Bounty Chest boosts, if no positions are available, fewer or no symbols are added.
• Red Bounty Chest – 5 or 6 points award 2 or 3 multipliers of x2 to x10 to random grid symbols. 7 points award 4 or 5 multipliers. When symbols with multipliers are part of a win, their multiplier applies to the win. Multipliers can be added to existing multipliers. Multiple multipliers in the same win are added together.

Gold Grab

Hitting 3 or 4 scatters grants 8 or 10 Gold Grab free spins, respectively. This bonus keeps the base game rules, while Bounty Chest points accumulate progressively. Once a Chest reaches at least +5 points, its boost triggers on that spin and the Chest resets. Landing a scatter in any bonus game awards +1 free spin. Each scatter then transforms into a random pay symbol.

Endless Hoard

Landing 5 scatters in the base game activates 12 free Endless Hoard spins. It follows the same rules as Gold Grab, except that at least 2 Token symbols land on the first spin.

Grunt Gold: Slot Verdict

Without wanting to be harsh on the greenskins, Grunt Gold wasn’t a slot that left a big impression. The fantasy setting is serviceable, but it doesn’t have much depth, and it may find it difficult to truly hook players and transport them somewhere else. A slot doesn’t need to be utterly convincing, of course, but expectations were a touch higher than what Grunt Gold ultimately offered. There is still a bit of charm—largely thanks to the orc in the bottom-left corner—so with enough imagination, the look of the game could be enough to spark curiosity. Sadly, the gameplay that followed didn’t feel especially compelling either, making it hard to finish the session feeling fully satisfied.

One drawback was how often the Green and Blue Bounty Chest boosts felt underwhelming. They did drop in extra pay symbols or wilds when they activated, but they seldom seemed to truly ignite. That said, with so many ways to win available, it’s easy to picture them chaining plenty of wins together, so the upside exists in theory, and a 15,000x max win adds a strong headline figure. The Red Bounty Chest seemed the hardest to set off, though if it lands at the right moment, it’s not difficult to imagine it being very impactful. Ultimately, it’s a game of chance, and the triple-chest setup can certainly favor lucky players.

Overall, Grunt Gold provided some light entertainment during the review, but it wasn’t the kind of slot that immediately grabbed attention with its tongs and slammed it onto an anvil with a hammer—in a good way, anyway. The game clearly has the tools to do it, yet the lack of big, frequent moments throughout the review made it difficult to feel eager to come back for another round.
