Golden Gallina: Slot Overview
One of the best parts of slots as entertainment is the freedom studios have to pick any theme they like. For players, that means you might be exploring the solar system on one spin and shovelling around a farm on the next. That’s exactly what iSoftBet has done here, effectively reworking their space-themed slot Euphoria into something much more rural. The twist is that Golden Gallina isn’t part of the studio’s extreme pays series the way Euphoria was. As you’d expect, that dents the overall potential, even though the rest of the experience stays very close to the original.
The meaning of the word ‘gallina’ becomes clear as soon as the game boots up. A friendly chicken farm fills the screen, complete with battered tractors, traditional windmills, a red barn, and more. iSoftBet adds motion to the backdrop with gusts of wind pushing dust across the scene, and later on the weather shifts as the sky breaks and rain starts falling. For city folk, a downpour can ruin plans; out in the fields, rain is just what the grass needs. Rounding it all off is a laid-back banjo-driven tune that makes it easy to sit back, chew on a wheat stalk, and carry on.
The action runs on a 5-reel, 3-row grid and offers 243 ways to win. Payouts land when matching symbols appear on consecutive reels starting from the left side of the screen. Along with the identical layout, the RTP is also very similar to Euphoria. It’s actually a touch higher: the default return is 96%, increasing to 96.97% when you switch on the Golden Bet to purchase the free spins feature. Standard stakes range from 30 p/c to $/€30 per spin, and Golden Gallina works smoothly across devices.
The BTG-style symbols from the original are no longer here, replaced by a blend of farm creatures and familiar slot classics. From low to high, the pay symbols are bars, double bars, haystacks, corn, sevens, bags of coins, a chick, a wolf, and a chicken. The payouts are unchanged, starting at 1x the bet for five bars and reaching 13.3x for five chickens. The wild symbol features a rooster and substitutes for any standard pay symbol. Wild-only wins pay the same as the chicken symbol.
Golden Gallina: Slot Features
Golden Gallina includes two core features, both centred on golden egg multipliers. The smaller of the two is a Gallina Spin, which may trigger at random on any base game spin. When it hits, up to 3 golden egg symbols drop onto the reels. Golden eggs act as wild symbols, and each carries a multiplier of either x2 or x3 – shown above the relevant reels. These multipliers combine by multiplying together, reaching up to x27 in total.
The game logo serves as the scatter symbol and appears on reels 1, 3, and 5. Hitting 3 scatters awards 8 free spins. During free spins, whenever a wild golden egg lands it activates an x2 win multiplier, and that value is stored above the reels. If another golden egg lands on a reel already showing an x2 multiplier, it increases to x3. As with Gallina Spins, free spins multipliers multiply each other, up to a maximum of x243. Triggering multipliers on all five reels grants +5 free spins, and the multipliers never reset at any point during the bonus.
There’s also a third option players can use, called the Golden Bet. This is a feature buy button that lets you jump directly into free spins for 50x the normal bet.
Golden Gallina: Slot Verdict
At a glance, Golden Gallina can look like Euphoria transplanted onto a farm, and the two titles do share a lot. Still, the differences are significant enough that they’re likely to suit different types of players. Euphoria asks you to risk a little more than Golden Gallina, but the trade-off is much bigger rewards. On the other side, Golden Gallina is less intense, though even strong runs tend to look modest next to what Euphoria can deliver.
So what does that mean in real numbers? While Euphoria pushed up to a huge 20,000x, Golden Gallina brings things back down to a more grounded 4,000x+ the stake. Even with that reduction, it’s notable that both games can, in theory, build multipliers to a combined x243. And to keep things balanced, the bonus buy in Golden Gallina is 50% cheaper to match the lower maximum win.
From there, the overall flow is essentially the same as Euphoria, although the volatility appears to have been toned down in line with the reduced ceiling. As for the theme swap, something inevitably changes when you move from the edge of the galaxy to a farmyard. No disrespect to agriculture, but it doesn’t quite have the same sense of wonder as drifting through nebulas, and Golden Gallina reflects that. It lacks the dreamy vibe Euphoria had—the sense that, with the right multipliers landing in free spins, anything might happen. Mechanically it can still do it, but with much lower potential, the ride is going to hit its limits sooner or later.
In a way, the themes match the personalities of the two games. Euphoria is for the dreamers, the players chasing a solar gust to see where it leads. Golden Gallina feels more aimed at those who like to stay a bit more grounded – and having both options is never a bad thing, just watch your step around the virtual farmyard.
