Genie Jackpots Wishmaker: Overview
Blueprint Gaming is back at the lamp again, summoning the cheerful djinn for Genie Jackpots Wishmaker. Following the original release, a Megaways remake, and even a pub fruits-style edition, the Genie returns for his fourth outing so far. It’s quite the show. Closely related to the The Goonies slot and very much in line with Blueprint titles that are packed with extras, it delivers no fewer than 7 random reel modifiers and 6 bonus games to unlock.
With each new instalment, the visuals tend to improve, and Genie Jackpots Wishmaker follows that rule. It’s easily the best-looking of the four, featuring polished artwork, plenty of animation, and an Arabic-tinged soundtrack that’s easy to get into. Stakes run from 10 p/c to $/€10 per spin, and the game plays out on a semi-transparent 5-reel, 20-payline setup inside a treasure-filled cavern. On the maths side, the Genie serves up a solid RTP of 96.06%, with volatility landing in the medium range.
Anyone familiar with earlier entries will recognise most of the symbols. J-A royals cover the low values, then come books, jewel bags, swords, and turbans. Five-of-a-kind on these premium icons pays 10x to 15x the stake. The top-paying symbol is the logo, which can appear stacked and pays from two of a kind upwards. Hit five logos on a payline and it returns 25 times the sake. The wild matches the logo’s paytable and also substitutes for all symbols except the bonus to complete winning lines.
Genie Jackpots Wishmaker: Features
The feature set isn’t especially complex in how it works, but there’s a lot of it. To start, there are 7 random modifiers that can trigger on any spin. When one activates, three lamps appear above the reels and players pick one to uncover one of the following:
- Infectious Monkey Wilds – monkey wilds spread by turning other symbols wild.
- Colossal Genie – the first three reels connect to form colossal 3×3 sized symbols.
- Genie Streak – winning symbols are locked and trigger a respin. New matching symbols are also locked and trigger more respins, until no more land, or the grid is full.
- Genie Win Spin – the Genie clicks his fingers to guarantee a win on the next spin.
- Genie Wilds – the Genie swoops onto the reels adding a random number of wilds.
- Mystery Wishes – the Genie adds a bunch of mystery symbols to the reels which all transform into the same matching symbol.
- Bonus Boost – bonus symbols are added to the reels increasing the chance of triggering the bonus game.
As with other bonus-heavy Blueprint slots, the bonus games are arranged in a tiered progression. It starts by landing 3 or more scatter symbols, which grants a spin on the Genie’s Wishmaker Bonus Wheel to award one of the bonuses. The feature you win can then be taken immediately or gambled to try for the next tier up. If the gamble fails, you receive a consolation instant cash prize.
First on the bonus ladder is Sultan’s Jewels. Players choose from 12 chests to uncover cash prizes or keys, and play continues until the Collect symbol appears. If three keys are revealed during the round, you earn a bonus upgrade.
In Magic Carpet, players select lamps to reveal either a number of moves or the ‘Collect’ message. Moves advance a monkey up a staircase of flying carpets, awarding a bet multiplier of up to 40x. Landing Collect ends the feature, but reaching the top of the stairway also grants entry to the Genie’s Big Money Bonus
Lucky Wishes begins with 3 respins on a grid showing only instant cash prize symbols. Each time a new cash symbol lands, the respins reset to 3. The feature ends when respins drop to zero or the grid fills up, which triggers the Genie’s Wishmaker Bonus. That bonus is either a cash boost, an x5 multiplier, or a retrigger.
The Golden Touch starts with 5 free spins, during which the Genie can turn up to 5 full reels wild on each spin. If the Genie enters the same reel more than once in a single spin, that reel becomes a wild multiplier. Multiplier wins of up x243 can be achieved in this feature.
Genie’s Wild Storm gives 10 free spins. While it runs, any genie wild that appears leaves a frame marking its exact position. On the last spin, every frame is filled with wilds or wild multipliers up to x5. Multiplier wins of up to 3,125x are possible in this feature.
The Big Money Bonus features a rotating wheel of bet multipliers. Players pick scrolls that reveal ‘Respin’ to continue, or ‘Collect’ to finish the round. Here, wins can reach up to 1,000x the bet.
Genie Jackpots Wishmaker: Verdict
Genie Jackpots Wishmaker is classic Blueprint Gaming: absolutely overflowing with add-ons. That said, experienced players will quickly notice it’s largely a reskin of The Goonies, so if you’ve already explored everything that title offers and want a fresh theme around a familiar framework, this could fit the bill. A number of elements feel closely aligned, including the Wishmaker Bonus Wheel and the Big Money round. They’re not identical copies, but it’s clear they share the same mathematical foundation, and that isn’t automatically a negative.
Overall, Genie Jackpots Wishmaker comes with both strengths and potential annoyances. The lower-tier bonuses can be fun in places, yet they’re not exactly big earners. Getting cut off early for a tiny return is frustrating, and even completing them often doesn’t amount to much.
The same goes for the Mystery Prizes if you lose a gamble. Bigger hits are more likely to come from Genie’s Wild Storm (and even then it would take an extreme amount of wild multipliers) or the Big Money round. That’s where the payouts shift from modest to more meaningful, with the game’s total potential capped at 10,000 times the stake.
Genie Jackpots Wishmaker doesn’t deliver the same turbo-charged, high-octane feel as the Megaways version. Still, if you enjoy Blueprint slots where the developer has stuffed in virtually every feature imaginable, Genie Jackpots Wishmaker will be right up your street. It’s loaded with mechanics, wrapped in sleek visuals and lively animation. The upbeat Genie also looks like he’s gained a little weight since last time, meaning there’s even more of him on screen. He won’t always grant the perfect wish, but he regularly adds a touch of magic to the reels.
