Reel Multipliers

Whether Popscading is better than the usual PopWins rhythm is debatable, but it does offer something a little different for experienced players to dig into. That said, the way winning symbols are instantly swapped out as Popscading continues felt less satisfying than the standard PopWins approach, where winning symbols disappear and their spaces (and other available spaces) are refilled. Here it can feel abrupt, slightly confusing, and tougher to follow in comparison.

If AvatarUX is known for anything besides “pop” mechanics, it’s packing games with multipliers. GemPops follows that pattern, and expanding reels to full height can be a major factor in how things play out. Another key point is how much stronger the bonus rounds often become when more free spins are secured. That’s true in many slots, but it feels particularly important in AvatarUX titles. It may also explain why gamble wheel mechanics show up so often in its portfolio and can be hard to resist. They can be brutal, though, so don’t count on any kindness when you take the gamble. Still, when GemPops gets going, stacking sizeable multipliers is possible, and with a top potential of 20,000x the bet, the theoretical upside is huge.

All told, GemPops didn’t feel like it quite does enough to sit alongside the standout PopWins names like CherryPop, but it remains another well-built slot from a studio that clearly knows its way around poppin’.
