Respins

After all wins and cascades from a normal spin have finished, if three or more wilds are left on the grid, a respin is triggered. During the respin, all wilds and scatters remain in place, while every other symbol is cleared away and replaced with new ones. Wild multipliers double with each respin. Wilds involved in wins are cleared from the grid along with the other winning symbols. A further respin is granted if, once the respin’s wins and cascades are done, the grid still holds at least three wilds.

Haunted Harvest

Landing 3 or 4 scatters on the reels activates Haunted Harvest, a bonus round made up of a collect phase and then a free spin. Scatter symbols from the base game stay on the grid for the collect phase, but transform into wild symbols with a random multiplier. The feature begins with 3 spins, and whenever a wild lands, the spin counter resets to 3. Regular symbols do not appear during this stage. If no new wilds land for 3 spins in a row, the collect phase ends. Wilds have a multiplier of x2 to x100.

Once the collect phase finishes, all gathered wilds remain in place for a single free spin. After the grid runs out of wins, a mystery draw can grant an extra free spin. If an extra free spin is awarded, the game returns to the collect phase, retaining any wilds left at the end of the first spin. Multipliers double before the second free spin. The mystery draw is able to award an unlimited number of additional free spins.

Phantom Treasure

Scoring 5 scatters activates Phantom Treasure. It follows the same rules as Haunted Harvest, except two free spins are guaranteed.

Feature Buy

The feature buy option offers BonusHunt FeatureSpins at 3x the bet to make each spin 5 times more likely to trigger free spins. Spooky FeatureSpins are priced at 50x and ensure at least 3 wild symbols with random multipliers land on every spin. Players can also directly purchase Haunted Harvest for 100x or Phantom Treasure for 300x.

Gem Ghosts: Slot Verdict

Gem Ghosts is one of those likeable titles that ends up hiding a serious bite. Early on, it feels fairly modest—even with the ghost and skeleton in the backdrop—like a lighthearted trip underground in a gem cart. And, in truth, the base game largely plays that way: clusters connect, the occasional wild multiplier drops in to boost returns, and it’s familiar cluster pays action. At first glance, there’s not much warning of how quickly the bonus round can turn into a short, deadly strike.

That said, the Haunted Harvest and Phantom Treasure bonus rounds aren’t without precedent, and you don’t need to look beyond the Hacksaw Gaming family of studios to see similar ideas. Earlier slots using the collection/payout phase structure include Alpha Eagle, Shadow Strike, and Rusty & Curly. Chicken Man is arguably the closest comparison, since its Eggvenger’s Assemble feature also follows a collection phase with a single spin where stored wilds and multipliers come into play. One spin isn’t much, but Gem Ghosts keeps the tension high because the mystery draw can add more spins, and it’s unlimited – in theory. In practice, yes, it’s absolutely possible to pick up extra spins and keep the mine cart rattling along.

The top prize in Gem Ghosts is a stash worth 12,000x the bet, and while it’s anyone’s guess what ghosts plan to do with that many gems, it’s a hefty goal for players to chase. The bonus round feels like you get one decisive swing of the pickaxe to see what does—or doesn’t—spill out, which may feel too tight for some gamblers, but could be ideal for anyone after compact, high-intensity gameplay.
