Red Tiger’s newest title Fruit Snap opens on a huge 8×8 grid filled with familiar fruit slot icons. At first glance it’s not exactly groundbreaking, but the symbol bar sitting above the playfield hints that there’s more going on than a standard fruit grid—and that’s where the curiosity kicks in. The intro screen clears things up a little: Fruit Snap can produce wins of more than 3,000 times your stake, and it includes a fruit removal mechanic plus a double win upgrade feature, both tied directly to that symbol bar. What it doesn’t spell out is that Fruit Snap is a high-volatility slot with a fairly strong hit rate, playable on all devices with stakes from 0.10 to €/$20 per spin.

From an audiovisual perspective, Fruit Snap stays close to the modern fruit-slot formula. You get looping, funky lounge-style music and a neon-pink disco ball background that contrasts sharply with the bright symbols. It has a slightly upscale vibe overall, and the presentation does a good job of pulling you in to see what the mechanics can do.

That symbol bar we pointed out earlier? It’s actually made up of separate Symbol Meters. Each symbol has its own meter displayed above the grid. As it stands, Red Tiger still has ground to cover before it can really compete in the grid slot space, which is currently led largely by Play’n GO and Push Gaming. Instead of releasing more fruit-based games, it would be more exciting to see Red Tiger invest in stronger storytelling, more distinctive characters, and slots with a clearer sense of personality. It’s also hard to overlook the RTP reduction, which has fallen below the 96% level in this title and several other recent Red Tiger releases.
