Florageddon!: Slot Overview
We’ve seen plenty of end-of-the-world tales where zombies stagger through the streets or advanced aliens arrive to strip Earth of its resources. Florageddon! from Yggdrasil Gaming goes in another direction: here, plants have evolved into lethal beings and have risen up to reclaim the planet. It’s not an entirely new idea either—John Wyndham explored similar territory back in the 1950s with Day of the Triffids, featuring towering carnivorous plants in a ruined world. That’s the kind of setting Florageddon! drops you into, backed by mechanics such as dual progressive win multipliers, dropdowns, added wilds, special awards, pay both ways, and free spins.
The game doesn’t spell out exactly how it happened, but in Florageddon! the plant life seems to have eradicated humanity and taken the world back. The action unfolds in what looks like a once-busy city area, now swallowed by vegetation—an unused traffic light, a dead phone box, and a battered taxi all hint at what came before. These aren’t harmless weeds growing over abandoned streets, though: many of the plants sport toothy mouths, sly grins, and sharp spikes. A dark, foreboding soundtrack adds to the sense that something truly awful went down here…

Florageddon!’s B-movie horror vibe can be played on any device, with stakes ranging from 20 p/c to $/€100 per spin. The math model is highly volatile, and there are four RTP configurations available, with the top setting at 96%. At times, the hit frequency felt below its stated 18.15%, though a win can kick off a chain reaction with dropdown wins and other effects. The 5-reel, 3-row layout pays both ways, creating wins when matching symbols land on at least three consecutive reels starting from either the leftmost reel or the rightmost reel.
As for symbols, Florageddon! begins with ivy-wrapped J-A card royals, paying 0.5x the bet for five of a kind, followed by road signs, clocks, lamps, and fire hydrants that return 0.6-0.8x for five, and finally four plant symbols as the premium pays worth 1-5x the stake for a five if a kind win. Wilds can land on any reel and substitute for all regular paying symbols.
Florageddon!: Slot Features

Florageddon! can take a little time to warm up, but when it does, it’s capable of building real pace. Everything begins with the dropdown feature, which removes winning symbols from the grid when they connect. A wild symbol is then placed into one of the newly opened positions, while the remaining gaps are refilled by symbols dropping in from above. If the new layout produces another win, the dropdown repeats, continuing until no further win is formed.
Multiplier
Working alongside the dropdowns are two progressive win multipliers—one shown on each side of the reels. When a win begins from the left side or the right side, the respective multiplier is increased. It’s worth noting this isn’t a straight doubling each time like Raptor Doublemax; instead, it rises in set steps. The multipliers keep climbing with every consecutive dropdown. Once the dropdown sequence finishes in the base game, both multipliers reset. For wins that pay both ways, the payout is multiplied by the combined value of the two multipliers.
Special Awards
A dropdown counter above the reels can trigger a special award when it fills up. In the base game, it requires 4 consecutive dropdowns to complete; during free spins, only 3 consecutive dropdowns are needed. Special awards include:
- Double Wild – two empty spaces are filled with wild symbols instead of the usual one.
- Multiplier Boost – both multipliers are increased by +10.
- Wild Stack – one reel generates three wild symbols, plus an extra three wilds above them for a future dropdown.
- Extra Life – when the dropdown sequence ends, symbols are cleared off the grid to let a new set drop in.
Free Spins
Hitting 3, 4, or 5 free spins scatter symbols grants 7, 9, or 11 free spins, respectively. Before the round starts, players may choose to collect or gamble for a shot at winning up to 16 free spins. Be aware that a failed gamble results in losing the free spins entirely. While the feature is active, the multipliers do not reset between spins, and the special award counter needs three consecutive wins to fill instead of four, as it does in the base game.
Buy Bonus & Golden Bet
Depending on where you play, Florageddon! may offer access to the bonus buy or Golden Bet. The Golden Bet increases the stake by 50%, and it also reduces the number of dropdowns needed to fill the special award meter in the base game from four to three. With the bonus buy, players can purchase 7, 9, or 11 random free spins for 100x the bet, or opt for 16 free spins for 400x the bet.

Florageddon!: Slot Verdict
Florageddon! sits in the same family as titles like Multifly!, MexoMax!, and especially Raptor DoubleMax. If you enjoyed what Yggdrasil aimed for in those releases, there’s a strong chance Florageddon! will land for you too. From an audio-visual standpoint, it doesn’t quite hit the same heights as its predecessors. The soundtrack can become a little monotonous and heavy, and while the visuals do have a glowing look, they don’t feel as bright or as polished as they did in Raptor DoubleMax. This isn’t to say it’s anywhere near the roughness of something like Calavera Crush, but there’s a slight sense that Yggdrasil Gaming dialled things back a touch with Florageddon! It’s absolutely fine with no major issues—just not quite as slick and shiny as Raptor DoubleMax.
That may be because Raptor came first, so the surprise factor isn’t as strong. To make up for it, Florageddon! brings in more features than Raptor DoubleMax and places them in a distinctive setting. There’s plenty of multiplier-driven excitement thanks to the pay both ways, multiply both ways approach. Using the grid like this makes better use of the whole layout rather than leaning heavily on the first three reels. Combining the two multipliers for both ways wins adds an extra layer too. It doesn’t quite replicate the same runaway, out-of-control doubling progression seen in Raptor DoubleMax, where values could climb into the thousands, though that doesn’t mean it can’t happen here—and both games share the same maximum payout of 20,000 times the stake.
Florageddon! also isn’t as streamlined and simple as Raptor DoubleMax, which largely boiled down to spinning until the dropdown/multiplier combo (hopefully) went berserk. Here, there are more moving parts which, depending on preference, might either water things down or make the experience richer. Still, at heart, Florageddon! remains focused on hunting those extended dropdown chains where multipliers ramp up to big numbers. On that front, it has everything required to deliver the same kind of thrills its predecessor could.
