Fighter Pit is styled like a retro console/arcade cabinet: a metallic frame surrounds the reels, complete with buttons and a directional pad. Beside the grid, you can see a fighter on each side of the screen. The two squads are simply named the Green team and the Red team, and one fighter from each side accompanies players into the brawl. You can pick which fighters appear by clicking the portraits above the grid, though this is purely cosmetic and has no impact on results.

A punch, a hit, or even a gentle tap on the spin button sets the 5×4 reelset in motion, using 14 paylines to form wins from 3 OAK+ combinations. Stakes run from 10 c to $/€100 per spin in the base game on this medium-high volatile slot. The maximum RTP is 96.3%, and the game can reach its max win in any mode.

Glossy metallic 10 to A card ranks serve as Fighter Pit’s low-value symbols, each paying 2 times the bet for a 5 OAK line. Wild Fist Reels

When a Fist symbol triggers, it expands into a Wild Fist Reel from its landing position up to the top of the reel. Fist symbols only activate when the expanded reel will contribute to a win. Wild Fist Reels substitute for all paying symbols. Each Fist belongs to either the Red team or the Green team, shown by its colour. If the Fist travels through opposing Fighter symbols or a wild, a multiplier is added to the Wild Fist Reel of x2 to x200. Multipliers apply to every win they take part in.

Showdown

Hitting 3 FS scatters in the base game awards 10 free Showdown spins. Base game mechanics carry over. On top of that, the Red and Green teams battle each other to climb Victory Levels. Both teams begin at Victory Level 3+. Whenever a Fist punches an opponent’s Fighter or a wild, the Fist’s team earns +1 Victory Point. Once a team collects 3 Victory Points, a respin featuring an Epic Drop is granted, and the winning team’s Victory Level increases by +1. The Epic Drop guarantees a minimum number of Fist symbols: at least 3 at Victory Level 3+, at least 4 at Victory Level 4+, or 5 at Victory Level 5+ – and all Fists match the winning team’s colour. Fists that appear during Epic Drops do not contribute to raising the Victory Level. Additionally, landing 2 or 3 FS scatters grants an extra +2 or +4 free spins, respectively.

Ultimate Showdown

Landing 4 FS scatters in the base game starts 10 Ultimate Showdown free spins. It follows the same rules as the Showdown feature, except each team starts on Victory Level 4+.

Bonus Buys

Players can trigger BonusHunt FeatureSpins for 3x the bet, making each spin 5 times more likely to activate a bonus game. Fighter Pit: Slot Verdict

As a quick aside, Hacksaw Gaming’s reskin tally does seem to be inching upward. That’s more of a spoken-aloud observation than a call-out, since it’s nowhere near embarrassing levels. Still, where the studio once rolled out one fresh concept after another, it has started leaning a bit more on reusing earlier work. Hacksaw Gaming is clearly fond of spreading wild and multiplier mechanics, and watching those ideas evolve into slightly different forms is often both fun and welcome. Even so, while Fighter Pit is enjoyable, it doesn’t offer much that players weren’t already served by its hard-hitting predecessor, Fist of Destruction.

From a visual standpoint, the slot swaps in a new roster of anonymous fighters and places them in a slick retro gaming setup, so the presentation is genuinely appealing. Under the hood, though, the same elements that did—or didn’t—excite in Fist of Destruction are present here too. Fist symbols can feel fantastic when they land low and smash through enemy fighters or wilds, building up the multiplier. On the flip side, a Fist landing at the very top of a reel is more like a low blow, even if it’s still preferable to not seeing them at all. The concept gets a useful lift in the bonus round thanks to Epic Drops, and it becomes even stronger if you manage to push into higher Victory Levels.

As a result, it’s easy to see how the slot can reach its 10,000x win cap in any stage, given the underlying power of expanding wilds paired with multipliers. When the pieces fall into place, Fighter Pit can be just as thrilling as the game it’s built from. Even so, it’s difficult to shake the feeling that the reason for Fighter Pit to exist is a bit on the thin side.
