Yggdrasil Gaming partner studio Dreamtech heads back to a familiar niche for them in slots – the Asian-themed space. Elemental Princess revolves around four princesses, and each one brings a distinct power and prize boost through modifiers or free spins. Expect floating wilds, sticky wilds, spreading wilds, and win multipliers.

Elemental Princess has a soft, delicate presentation, with the backdrop shifting to suit whichever princess is currently in control. You might see cherry blossoms, gentle hills, pale green woodland, or stands of bamboo. When all four characters appear together, the group resembles an Asian take on Alphonse Mucha’s Art Nouveau-style four seasons artwork. Gameplay runs on a 5 reel, 3-row layout framed by an elegant wooden structure. There are 25 fixed paylines, and wins pay when three or more matching symbols land next to each other from the leftmost reel.

There’s a definite Play’n GO Moon Princess vibe here, and it’s not only the name. Each princess can alter the reels in her own way when activated, and the four free spins modes are built around those identities. That said, it never reaches the same level of mayhem as Play’n GO’s title.

On any base game spin, you may randomly receive a Princess Spin modifier. There are 4 types:

• The Earth Princess Spin converts all standard wilds into Earth Princess Wilds. Any high paying symbol positioned next to an Earth Princess Wild is also changed into an Earth Princess Wild.
• During a Water Princess Spin, all standard wilds become Water Princess Wilds, and 2, 3, 5, or 10 of these symbols are added to random reel positions.
• Fire Princess Spins turn standard wilds into Fire Princess Wilds, and a multiplier of x2, x3, x5, or x10 is applied to any wins.
• When the Air Princess Spin lands, all standard wilds switch to Air Princess Wilds, and a Floating Mega Wild appears above the reels, reaching up to 3×3 in size.

After that comes the Free Games feature, which can start in two separate ways. The first is landing 3 or more scatter symbols on the reels; the second is the Lucky Feature Trigger and Re-Trigger. • Finally, Air Princess free spins deliver Floating Mega Wilds. The feature begins with a 1×2 Floating Mega Wild placed randomly on the reels. With each free spin, it shifts to a different position. In addition, whenever an Air Princess Wild lands, it is collected. After collecting 2, 5, or 9, the Floating Mega Wild grows to 2×2, 2×3, or 3×3.

Elemental Princess: Verdict

Although it has a few charming touches, Elemental Princess is far from a high-octane, adrenaline-heavy slot. The consistent hit rate may be enough to keep casual players engaged as they chase a standout win, but the big issue is that the standout wins aren’t especially huge. Even with the princesses’ abilities in play, the maximum you can pull from the game is 1,666 times the stake – a respectable result if it lands, though more typical outcomes sit around 100-500x.

Even with four separate free games options, including one that ramps up a win multiplier, Elemental Princess simply isn’t a high potential slot. Visually it holds up well, and the four princesses may be appealing enough for players who are particularly drawn to Asian culture. In that sense, Elemental Princess feels a lot like a Japanese tea ceremony: careful, structured, balanced, and a touch slow. Perfect for unwinding with a cup of green chai, but not the ideal pick for hardcore players looking to really let the reels rip.
