Electro Cubes: Slot Overview
Scatter pays slots have been everywhere for some time, so simply throwing together a Sweet Bonanza 1000 or Gates of Olympus 1000 lookalike to lure players in doesn’t really do the job anymore. These days, a scatter pays release needs genuine invention, or at least a standout hook, to separate itself from the crowd. AvatarUX has shown plenty of imagination in the past, backed by design partners Mr Wu, and the two have teamed up again for Electro Cubes—a scatter pays slot that comes with a few neat ideas up its sleeve.
That said, Electro Cubes doesn’t instantly wow on looks, especially compared to some other Mr Wu and AvatarUX collaborations. It leans into a sleek, electronic sci‑fi vibe, not unlike Hacksaw Gaming’s Cubes (2020) or Big Time Gaming’s Star Clusters Megaclusters (2020). The setting feels like piloting a deep-space hauler moving ice between star systems—just you, distant starlight, and endless darkness, chilly and a touch isolating. Once you start spinning, though, it also plays like a gambling-powered Rubik’s cube, with the grid able to twist and flip between rounds—or even mid-round.

One of Electro Cubes’ standout traits is that it can be played as either highly volatile or low volatile, depending on what the player prefers. A slider in the lower-left corner lets you toggle between the two settings. As stated in the rules, the selected strategy changes the RTP, ranging from 95.97% to 96.05%. Stakes run from 10 c to $/€100 per spin, and to score a win you need 6 or more identical symbols landing anywhere to form a scatter win. Winning symbols are removed, then new ones drop into the gaps, giving another shot at winning on the same spin.
The name fits the pay symbols well, as they’re presented as cubes. There are 6 low pays and 6 high pays in different colours, paying 0.2x to 2x for a 6-7 OAK scatter win, and rising to 4.5x to 500x the bet for landing a 12+ OAK scatter win. Wilds show up fairly often, and whenever they appear they can replace any standard paying symbol.
Electro Cubes: Slot Features

Electro Cubes’ feature set revolves around shifting and rotating mechanics, including Cube Nudges, a Collect Meter that unlocks wilds and the bonus, plus the option to purchase features.
Cube Nudge
The Cube Nudge randomly shifts whole rows or reels, either vertically or horizontally, inside the play area to potentially form fresh winning combinations.
Collect Meter
Winning symbols build up the Collect Meter in both the base game and the bonus. Each time a marked collection point is reached, the Electro Wild Throw feature activates, placing 1 to 3 wild symbols onto the grid. If the meter is fully completed—triggering 3 consecutive Electro Wild Throw features along the way—the bonus game is triggered.
Bonus Game
The bonus game starts after landing 3 consecutive Electro Wild Throws. It awards 5 free spins, during which wild throws, nudges, and multipliers occur more often. Multipliers of x2 to x10 may appear on wilds and stack additively. Triggering 3 consecutive Wild Throws during the bonus grants +5 free spins.
Xpress
Xpress is Electro Cubes’ bonus buy menu. From here, players can lock in wilds on a spin for 5x the bet, or purchase 5 free spins in low volatility or high volatility for 50x or 100x the bet, respectively. Xpress also lets players enable the Ante Bet, tripling the chance of triggering the bonus for an extra 50% added to the stake.

Electro Cubes: Slot Verdict
One of Electro Cubes’ most appealing moves is how ready it is to pepper the grid with wild symbols. “Pepper” might be a better word than “flood,” but considering scatter pays games can form wins from anywhere, wilds are often less central in this format. They do appear in some scatter pays titles, yet they’re frequently swapped out for multiplier tiles or other add-on mechanics. Electro Cubes goes the other way, building much of its excitement around adding wilds to the grid. The Collect Meter is the key driver here, as it’s responsible for activating the Electro Wild Throw feature and, if progress keeps flowing, eventually awarding free spins too.
Free spins raise the intensity by continuing the wild throws while also letting multipliers attach to them. During the review, multiplier wilds were the biggest difference-maker, even though the top end of the paytable already offers strong symbol values. For example, an unmodified full grid of the highest low-pay symbol only reaches a fairly dull 9x the bet, while landing 12 of the best premium symbols can pay 500x. Even so, multiplier wilds in free spins were what really helped push the action forward.
On the plus side, Electro Cubes can find a satisfying rhythm—collecting winning symbols, firing wilds onto the reels, and nudging now and then to create tense, fun moments. It feels a bit like being paid to crack a Rubik’s cube, where the cash prizes add to the satisfaction of completing a side. Fully “solve” it—meaning, get fortunate enough—and Electro Cubes can theoretically reach a maximum of 10,000x the bet. So while it may not be the most visually striking slot AvatarUX and Mr Wu have produced, when the flips and twists start landing, the visuals matter a lot less.
