Dragon’s Fire (Red Tiger): Overview
Relaxing with a cocktail by the pool, topping up your tan, or taking a calm walk along the shoreline? Red Tiger isn’t interested in any of that. Even in the middle of summer, they’re pushing out new slots at a rapid rate. Just yesterday we covered a Red Tiger release called Flaming Fox, and today we’re jumping into another fiery title from the same studio.
Dragon’s Fire is Red Tiger’s third high variance, mega potential (10,000x) slot, following Laser Fruit and Fruit Blox. It runs on 5 reels, 4 rows and 40 paylines, with stakes from €0.20 to €10, which keeps the top bet fairly modest. The theoretical return to player sits at a decent 96.07%, and the volatility is high—expect longer dry spells, but with the chance of landing huge hits.
The theme leans into strong Smaug (Lord of the Rings) energy, featuring a powerful fire-breathing dragon protecting its hoard. Visually, the game looks excellent, and the audio work adds a suitably epic atmosphere.
Across the reels there are 11 symbols on the whole. Of these, 8 are regular symbols with 4 of them being premiums, shown as blue, green, red, and yellow dragons—the last of which pays 3x for five across a line. Both the Wild symbol and Dragon Eye symbol appear fully stacked on the reels, and a full screen of either returns 200 times the stake. That may not seem massive at first glance, but because the game revolves around a multiplier mechanic, the upside can reach 10,000 times the stake with the x50 multiplier.
Dragon’s Fire (Red Tiger): Features
This slot’s core mechanic is the Dragon’s Egg multiplier located to the right of the reels. It kicks in after a win and climbs with every additional consecutive win, up to a cap of 50x. The multiplier drops back to zero after a spin that doesn’t pay.
The dragon eye can show up at random after any winning spin to increase the Dragon’s Egg multiplier by up to 10x.
The Fire Blasts feature is another random trigger that can occur in both the base game and the bonus. When it activates, the dragon unleashes flames, leaving either wild reels or free spins behind.
Landing 3 or more scatter symbols anywhere on the reels awards a random number of free spins. You’ll see three golden dragons and must choose one to reveal your free spins total, which can exceed 20 spins if fortune is on your side.
The bonus plays very similarly to the base game, but with some major perks—if the multiplier is already running in the main game when free spins start, that value carries into the free spins and keeps building with each win regardless of any non-winning spins. Once the round ends, the multiplier transfers back to the main game and stays active until a losing spin.
Dragon’s Fire (Red Tiger): Verdict
Many of you already know we’re serious slot players who lean toward high variance titles, so it’s good to see Red Tiger entering that arena too. Even after three mega potential releases, there still don’t seem to be many truly gigantic wins on Youtube—if any. It’s a fair assumption that it takes a handful of 5000-10,000x wins going “viral” in the casino scene to really spark interest and help players fully grasp what a slot can do.
Big Time Gaming still has a strong hold on the high variance space, but others, like Red Tiger, are showing signs they could give the Australians a real challenge.
Dragon’s Fire looks fantastic and is backed by a genuinely epic soundtrack. The potential alone makes with well worth a try, and both the Dragon’s Eye Boost and Fire Blasts features add variety to the base game, which—by the way—offers just as much potential as the bonus. Of Red Tiger’s three high potential slots so far, this is our top pick thanks to the random features, the brilliant theme, and the smooth overall playability.
