Dragonfate’s Favor: Slot Overview
Is that a shooting star, a drone, or something else entirely? Nope—it’s a fricken winged beast heading straight for the village to set the place ablaze. Dragons can be great company when you’re having a punt, and developer Play’n GO has leaned into that idea to add some spark (and flame) to its online slot Dragonfate’s Favor. It could probably use that extra heat, too, as this is a reskin of the studio’s 2022 slot Raging Rex, so you’re still getting walking wilds, multiplier wilds, and a trio of selectable bonus rounds—just wrapped in a different kind of scaly menace.
One of the strengths of the Raging Rex series is its bold visuals and the rich scenery it spreads across the screen. Dragonfate’s Favor keeps that standard, presenting a glossy countryside backdrop of mountains and trees, dotted with signs of human settlement. There’s a light ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ vibe in the mix, along with a few memory nudges toward the Games Global (then Microgaming) slot Dragonz. Put simply, Dragonfate’s Favor is, like the game it’s built from, an enjoyable slot to look at.

The main game runs on a 6×4 grid, giving players access to 4,096 ways to win. All winning combinations start from the leftmost side of the grid and must connect across 3 or more consecutive reels. The top RTP option is 96.2%, although lower-return versions exist, and the volatility is set at a medium level, rated 6 out of 10. Play’n GO typically avoids ante bets and feature buys, and Dragonfate’s Favor is no exception—so the only decision players need to make is choosing a stake from 10 c to $/€100.
Dragonfate’s Favor uses 9-A card ranks plus 4 dragon character symbols as its pay icons. Hitting 6 matching royals pays 1x to 1.4x the bet, while 6 matching picture symbols return 4x to 6x the bet. Goldar and Hatchling symbols act as wilds, substituting for any regular paying symbol to help complete winning combinations.
Dragonfate’s Favor: Slot Features

In Dragonfate’s Favor, the “favors” come via a Goldar respins feature, plus a free spins round where players can pick 1 of 3 different options.
Goldar
Goldar can land on any reel except the leftmost reel. It appears as a stacked symbol, and when it lands fully in view, it triggers respins, shifting one reel to the left with each respin. While respins are active, Hatchling wilds become sticky and walk both in front of and behind Goldar. Based on which reel Goldar starts on, up to 5 respins can occur, with the last respin happening once Goldar reaches the leftmost reel.
Free Spins
Landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters in the base game activates the free spins feature and also pays 5x, 10x, 25x, or 100x, respectively. Once triggered, players choose Alpha Blessing, Hatchling Reward, or Dragons Gift.
- Alpha Blessing – Goldar is sticky and may move in any direction, while Hatchlings are not and leave on the next spin. In this feature, players win 8, 12, 16, or 20 free spins when triggered by 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters and +6, +9, +12, or +15 free spins are awarded when 2, 3, 4, or 5 scatters retrigger the feature.
- Hatchling Reward – Hatchlings are sticky and may move in any direction, though Goldar never appears. Hatchlings may also bring x2 or x3 multipliers, which multiply together if they are part of the same win. Players win 7, 9, 11, or 13 free spins when triggered by 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters and +4, +6, +8, +10, or +12 free spins are awarded when 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters retrigger the feature.
- Dragons Gift – all wilds in this feature are sticky and may move in any direction. Hitting 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters awards 5, 7, 9, or 11 free spins in the base game, while 2, 3, 4, or 5 scatters during the feature retrigger +2, +3, +4, or +5 free spins.

Dragonfate’s Favor: Slot Verdict
So who takes the win in a showdown—a raging T-Rex or a rampaging dragon? It has to be the dragon, surely, since it can fly and breathe fire, staying well clear of those short arms and snapping jaws. When it comes to Dragonfate’s Favor versus Raging Rex 2, though, it’s a much tighter contest. In fact, choosing one over the other mostly comes down to which type of scaly creature you’d rather spend your time watching—ancient beasts that once roamed the earth, or more mythical monsters. Play’n GO has used both themes to create striking scenes, making it difficult to argue that one is clearly superior in a straight 1 to 1 comparison.
That said, Dragonfate’s Favor does lose a few points for not bringing much mechanical novelty. Even so, Raging Rex 2 scored well at the time of review largely because its features are dependable and get straight to the point. Godlar the wandering dragon wild and respins bring the heat in the base game, supported by those adorable Hatchlings wilds, while the three-choice bonus round sits ready in the wings until enough scatters land. Which route is best? Sticky Goldar, sticky Hatchlings, or sticky both? And all the while, the Hatchling Reward option keeps those tempting multiplying Hatchlings in focus. It’s presented as a personal preference, especially since there’s no mention that the maximum win can’t be reached in any of the options.
The maximum payout is an impressive 30,000x the bet, although given Dragonfate’s Favor has come off the Play’n GO production line, it may be wise to treat that figure with a pinch of salt. Leaving the will-it-or-won’t-it debate aside, Dragonfate’s Favor is a well-crafted reskin that delivers an entertaining set of features (again) in a charming realm filled with dragons.
