Dragon Stone (iSoftBet): Overview
No matter how popular their titles might be with casual audiences, plenty of studios dream of landing that one game that truly clicks with the casino crowd; winning over demanding, seasoned players and enjoying the satisfaction of watching a release mature over time, gradually shifting from a success into a genuine classic. To pull that off, developers have to understand what that group wants and stay aligned with current trends. If you manage to impress them, it usually means you’ve created something noteworthy.
iSoftBet hasn’t fully achieved that status yet. Apart from the occasional standout (Paranormal Activity being a prime example), their games haven’t consistently struck a chord with this particular audience. Still, that may be about to change. Alongside bringing in new producers, they’ve also secured a Megaways license, a move that tends to boost interest almost by default.
Dragon Stone is iSoftBet’s latest slot, and it’s also the first title from this studio to appear on Bigwinboard. Built on a 5-reel, 20-payline setup, it openly channels a Game of Thrones vibe. Expect dragons that roar, unleash fire and ice, and bring plenty of extras—four randomly triggered base game features plus four separate free spins modes. You can jump in for as little as 0.20 to €/$20 per spin across all devices.
From a visual standpoint, Dragon Stone is packed with detail and looks superb. Taking place in the dragons’ ancient homeland, the reels sit within a dragon’s nest with an impressive mountain panorama in the background. The audio is driven by a grand orchestral soundtrack that gives everything an epic tone, topped off by the occasional powerful dragon roar. On the dragon-scale reels, you’ll find 10, J, Q, K and A royals, plus four different premium dragon symbols. The top payer is the fire-dragon, awarding 25 times your stake for five across a full payline. A wild symbol is also present and matches the fire-dragon’s value—substituting for all symbols except the scatter.
Dragon Stone (iSoftBet): Features

Dragon Stone includes four randomly triggered base game modifiers, collectively referred to as the Elemental Power Spins feature. When it kicks in, the “O” in the logo above the reels begins flashing before settling on one of four colours tied to the four dragons. Here’s what each one does:
- Flaming Wilds (red) – the fire dragon will breathe fireballs to give you a random amount of fire wilds.
- Ice Storm Spins (blue) – the ice dragon will freeze winning symbols into place and reward re-spins as long as new winning symbols are added.
- Earthquake Reels (green) – the earth dragon will raise rocks from the earth that will turn entire reels wild.
- Winds of Winnings (purple) – the wind dragon will blow in a random number of mystery symbols to replace 3 – 15 symbols.
Things ramp up further when you land the Free Spins, triggered by hitting 3, 4 or 5 dragon stone scatter symbols anywhere on the reels (awarding 10, 15 or 20 free spins respectively). After entering the feature, one of the four elemental powers listed above is chosen at random and will activate more often.
Dragon Stone (iSoftBet): Verdict
There’s plenty to appreciate in Dragon Stone. In the base game, the modifiers help spice up the gameplay and prevent it from feeling repetitive too quickly. It also uses a few subtle psychological touches, like the huge dragon shadow sweeping across the reels or the dragon stone “O” that occasionally makes it seem like a trigger is imminent. These moments don’t actually lead to anything, but they add movement and make the experience feel more eventful—and it does the job.
That said, the strongest aspect of Dragon Stone is clearly its presentation. The overall design is excellent and the audio work is genuinely top-tier. From a maths perspective, though, it’s less convincing. With medium variance, you can win up to 698 times your stake on each spin, even if hitting that peak is something most players will likely never see. At times we found it surprisingly harsh, often acting closer to a high variance slot than expected. On top of that, the random modifiers tend to focus on lower-value symbols, which can start to feel repetitive and makes it harder to stay optimistic about landing anything above 20x.
Even with those shortcomings, Dragon Stone remains an engaging slot that ultimately succeeds. While its volatility and ceiling are likely too modest for hard-core gamblers who enjoy chasing huge wins, it should still attract plenty of players who want something different and modern to keep them entertained.
