Although the theme is one we’ve seen countless times before, Dragon 50,000 manages to inject a fresher feel into it. ReelPlay’s visuals are impressively polished. The backdrop shows foggy hills and valleys, while silver dragons coil around two pillars flanking the reels. As for the symbols, you’ll spot familiar playing card icons ranging from the green 9 up to the pink A. There’s also a Chinese firecracker symbol, followed by a Chinese lantern. A slot with “dragon” in the name would feel incomplete if no dragon ever appeared on the reels. Thankfully, this one delivers—a gold dragon! This symbol acts as the Wild, meaning it can substitute for any regular symbol wherever it lands. The only symbol it cannot replace is the game’s scatter. If the wild helps complete a winning combination, it also doubles the payout for that win. Better still, if you land a win made entirely of this symbol, you can collect up to 400 times your stake.

The reels also include a pearl symbol, which serves as the game’s scatter. Pearls can land anywhere and still pay, provided you see at least two of them. Landing five pearls across the grid in the base game awards 400x your wager. Naturally, the Scatter symbol has another important role in Dragon 50,000 as well.

The Scatter is what activates the Free Spins feature—landing 3, 4 or 5 scatters anywhere on the reels awards 10 free spins. While in this mode, every winning combination you land is boosted by a 5x multiplier. Strangely, the game is promoted as having a 50,000x maximum win per single spin, yet in practice the top payout appears to be much smaller. Unless we’re misunderstanding something, it seems the developer is referring to coin value rather than real cash value. If the true max win is in fact 2000x (we haven’t hit it ourselves, for obvious reasons), then that’s misleading marketing at best.

Regardless, Dragon 50,000 is ultimately a fairly straightforward release when you look at its built-in features. Wilds and multiplier free spins have been standard in online slots for years, so it doesn’t offer much that feels original. That said, it does handle these mechanics effectively. On top of that, ReelPlay has delivered excellent graphics, which you’ll notice immediately. It simply would have been stronger with one or two feature ideas beyond the usual slot staples.
