Donut Division: Slot Overview

Pop culture has long pushed the idea that cops can’t resist donuts — like they’re some kind of Kryptonite. Supposedly, no officer hits the streets without first stocking up on sugary rings (or pizza if they’re parked up on an all-night stakeout). Of course, TV loves a cheap cliché… but clichés can be entertaining, and Hacksaw Gaming leans into the joke with Donut Division. Here, you’re hunting for goo — plenty of goo — while investigating two bonus rounds, each available in regular and super versions.

Donut Division carries a lively 1970s cartoon feel and introduces players to Harry, Tom, Burt, and Roger (a.k.a. Chief). They might not look like the toughest crime squad around, yet the game info claims the team has “sniffed out more crooks than sprinkles on a donut.” Depending on the selected mode, you’ll join them on the gritty streets outside a pizza place, near a donut shop, or inside a warehouse.

To dive into the sticky action, players can set stakes from 10 c to $/€100, and there may be a broad selection of feature buy options available. With three H’s out of 5, this is classed as a medium volatile slot, and the highest RTP players can look for is 96.3%. Gameplay takes place on a 6-reel grid showing 5 rows of symbols, with 19 paylines used to work out standard line wins.

Donut Division’s paytable is filled with law-and-order themed symbols: coffee cups, cones, lights, walkie-talkies, and donuts as the low pays, followed by the 4 character symbols as the premiums. Landing 6 matching low symbols returns 1x the bet, while 6 matching high symbols pay between 2 to 5 times the bet.

Donut Division: Slot Features

Donut Division slot – Warehouse feature

If sticky chaos is your thing, Donut Division delivers with Gooey Guns, Gooey Wilds, 4 bonus rounds – Warehouse, Stakeout, Super Warehouse, Super Stakeout, and bonus buys.

Gooey Guns and Gooey Wilds

Whenever a Gooey Gun symbol appears, it shoots Gooey Wild symbols to the left along the same row until the edge of the grid. After firing, the Gooey Gun transforms into a Gooey Wild. Gooey Gun symbols can also land with a multiplier of x1 to x100.

Gooey Wild symbols replace all regular paying symbols. Any Gooey Wilds that are fired by, or created from, a Gooey Gun inherit the same multiplier value as the gun. Those multiplier values are then added together into a combined total and applied to all connected Gooey Wilds on the same row. This multiplier counts toward a win when at least one Gooey Wild with a multiplier is included on the winning payline. If a win involves more than one row of connected Gooey Wilds, the multipliers are added together first and then applied. A full line of 6 wilds pays 5x the bet.

Bonus Choice

Landing 3 or 4 scatters in the base game triggers the Bonus Choice screen, letting players pick between 2 bonus games based on how many scatters landed. With 3 scatters, players choose either the Warehouse or the Stakeout. With 4 scatters, players choose either the Super Warehouse or the Super Stakeout.

Warehouse & Super Warehouse

The Warehouse bonus begins with 3 refilling lives. The grid can land non-paying dead symbols or special symbols. Special symbols are Adding Multipliers, Multiplying Multipliers, Battery symbols, and Light-Switch symbols. Each spin consumes 1 life and provides 2 Flashlight Charges. Whenever a special symbol lands, lives are refilled to 3. If 3 spins in a row occur without a refill, the bonus ends.

2 x 1 position sized flashlights sweep across the reels to reveal darkened symbols. On every new spin, the flashlights shine at random grid positions to uncover the symbols in those spots. If a special symbol is revealed, its modifier activates, and the flashlight moves to a new position without using a Flashlight Charge or a life. The special symbols are:

  • Adding Multiplier – a value of 1x to 100x is collected by the Total Multiplier above the grid.
  • Multiplying Multiplier – a value of x2 to x10 is collected by the Total Multiplier above the grid.
  • Battery – the flashlight’s light expands to 3×3, revealing symbols in the lit area. After any symbols in this area have activated, the area shrinks to 1 square again. Battery symbols appear on reels 2 and 5 and rows 2, 3, or 4.
  • Light-Switch – lights the entire grid, and all symbols on the current grid are revealed then collected. The grid goes dark at the start of the next spin.
  • Dead Symbol – switches the flashlight that revealed it off and consumes a Flashlight Charge. When both Flashlight Charges have been consumed, another free spin is triggered, and a life is used up. When all 3 lives are gone, the bonus ends.

Once the feature finishes, the accumulated Total Multiplier is paid out to the player. The left flashlight covers reels 1-3, while the right one covers reels 4-6. In the super version of the bonus, all adding multipliers have a minimum of 5x or higher.

Stakeout & Super Staekout

The Stakeout bonus runs on the same mechanics as the base game, but with an increased chance of landing Gooey Gun symbols and securing higher multiplier values. Landing 2 scatters awards +2 free spins, while having 3 scatters visible awards +4 free spins. In the super version of the bonus, after the first Gooey Gun lands on a row, a Gooey Gun is guaranteed to land somewhere on that same row on every subsequent spin until the feature ends. Retriggers work the same way as in the standard version.

Bonus Buy

Inside Donut Division’s bonus buy menu, you’ll see the following: BonusHunt FeatureSpins (3x the bet) – each spin is 5 times more likely to trigger a bonus, Goo In Guns Blazing! FeatureSpins (50x the bet) – each spin guarantees at least 2 Gooey Gun symbols land. Scatters do not appear in this mode, No Case Too Tough… -(100x the bet) – choose between the Warehouse and the Stakeout bonus games., and …No Donut Too Sweet (200x the bet) – choose between the Super Warehouse and the Super Stakeout bonus games.

Donut Division: Slot Verdict

If you’re into pizza, donuts, and taking down bad guys, Donut Division is worth keeping an eye on. It’s packed with a cheeky personality on the surface and a solid set of mechanics underneath — and there are a lot of them. Some ideas feel familiar, while others bring something fresher. A standout is the Gooey Guns/Gooey Wild pairing, which echoes what appeared in Beam Boys, where Wild Laser Cat symbols fired wilds from their landing spot to the far left of the grid. Here, though, the spreading wilds come with multiplier values attached. Those multipliers can stack as well, even if you should expect plenty of smaller numbers along the way. Still, anything can happen. Beam Boys didn’t include multis, but it balanced things with a huge number of ways to win. Either way, having alternatives — paylines plus multiplier potential — is never a bad deal.

Hacksaw could have stopped after adding goo-based base-game action and goo-influenced free spins. Both are present, but the studio also throws in the Warehouse bonus, which stands out as one of Donut Division’s more distinctive touches. Rather than simply collecting special symbols as they land, you need the officers’ flashlight beams to pass over them first. Enjoyable and aggravating? Absolutely — it depends how the reveals go. Warehouse is the more unusual bonus, while Stakeout brings more adrenaline. Seeing rows of multiplier wilds is always a welcome sight, and in the much stronger Super Stakeout mode, once you hit a Gooey Gun on a row, you’ll keep getting them on that same row for the remainder of the feature.

There’s also no reason to worry about which mode you’re in if you’re aiming for Donut Division’s max win of 12,500x the bet, as it’s possible across all of them. That’s often true of a Hacksaw Gaming slot thanks to the punchy feature sets the studio consistently builds, and Donut Division is another impressively inventive and highly entertaining example.
