The ELK Classic Series keeps its momentum going with a seventh instalment in the well-liked collection. This time, the line-up takes a Dia De Muertos turn, dressed up with a Mexican festival-inspired makeover. ELK Studios even leans further into the theme than usual, describing it as making a ‘deal with the devil’ himself. The base game isn’t overflowing with payouts and can feel harsh at times thanks to the lower hit frequency, but Nudging and Stacked Wilds help keep things from getting stale. Naturally, the overall gameplay remains on the simpler side, which might not appeal to players looking for something more complex.

A bigger issue for some may be the potential, which is a familiar criticism aimed at certain ELK slots. Diablo Reels’ max win of 2,500 times the stake isn’t a complete deal-breaker, but it’s not exactly jaw-dropping either. If you want a higher-ceiling entry in the series, Win Win is the better pick with a max win potential of 5,000x. ELK slots often hover between these two limits, as if the team hasn’t fully committed to one direction. Still, it’s ultimately down to player preference—and players get to decide with their coins.

Overall, Diablo Reels stands out as a leading title in the series, pairing great visuals with entertaining features.
