Demon (Play’n GO): Overview
We’ll admit it: we’d never even heard of the rock band Demon before Play’n GO revealed this slot. After digging into their background, it quickly becomes obvious that many of you probably haven’t either (especially if you’re not based in the UK). On Wikipedia, the band’s former-member list is longer than the article itself and, while they do seem to have a small dedicated audience on Spotify, the overall traction isn’t exactly impressive. This may sound a bit harsh, but if this is the strongest option Play’n GO had for their second branded slot, it does make you wonder whether the choice was made with a random number generator.
So who are Demon, exactly? If you can’t be bothered clicking through to Wikipedia, here’s the quick version: they’re an English band formed in 1979 by Dave Holl and Mal Spooner. The article also states (without providing sources) that they’re viewed as an important act within the new wave of British heavy metal movement. Either way, as a branded slot it’s never going to pull anything close to the attention that Sabaton did.
The 5×3, 30-payline format is about as thrilling as the band’s most recent album—meaning nothing really stands out at first glance. Play’n GO’s default 96.51% RTP is excellent, but steer well clear if you spot the 94.51% version, which some casinos may choose to offer. With high volatility, it includes a symbol transformation mechanic that can turn all singer symbols into wilds. There’s also a free spins round where randomly chosen win multipliers apply, and where Hell Spins may be triggered if the free spins feature is retriggered. You can play Demon on desktop or mobile with stakes from 30 cents to 90€ per spin.
In terms of presentation, Demon leans hard into a hellish theme. The action takes place at the gates of hell; behind the translucent reels sits a stone-wall pentagram, and deeper in the background a horde of demonic creatures has been summoned, ready to rock out to the band’s best-known tracks. A jukebox is built into the game with 7 songs to pick from, plus a track titled “The Devil Rides Out” recorded exclusively for this slot, which only unlocks after 100 real money spins.
And the paytable? The reels include the standard 10 to A royals styled with a heavy metal edge. Higher-paying symbols feature lady stone statues, masked demons, gargoyles, and crosses. Above those is the singer, paying 10 times your stake for five of a kind. The Baphomet acts as the wild, appears on reel 3 only, and substitutes for all regular symbols except the scatter.
Demon (Play’n GO): Features

As you’d expect from a heavy metal band slot, it’s noisy, quick, and built around a couple of punchy mechanics. The core element is the Wild Mask feature—appearing on the middle reel only—and when it lands, it converts every singer symbol currently visible into wilds. Beyond that, the base game doesn’t offer anything else.
The main attraction in Demon is the Free Spins round. It triggers when wild amulets land on reel 1 and 5 alongside the wild mask symbol on the middle reel. You’ll receive 11 free spins if the wild mask lands in the centre position of the reel, or 6 if it lands in the top or bottom position. While the feature runs, a win multiplier applies—each spin randomly selects 2x, 3x, 5x, or 8x and uses it on your winnings.
On top of that, landing both wild amulets on reel 1 and 5 activates the Hell Spins. You begin with a random number of spins from 4 to 8, and during Hell Spins the win multiplier is fixed to the value chosen on the triggering spin. If the wild mask also lands on the middle reel, you’re awarded a random 6 to 10 additional spins. If the wild mask hits the middle position of reel 3 when Hell Spins triggers or retriggers, the win multiplier is doubled for every remaining spin. The maximum win is 5,000 times your stake, but since a hit like that is expected only once every 500 million spins, it’s wise to keep expectations far more realistic.
Demon (Play’n GO): Final Verdict
Don’t fall for it—sales-pitch write-ups have been circulating online since the day Demon was announced, talking it up with big claims and treating it like the greatest thing ever. It isn’t. In reality, even if you like the band, this is a fairly standard Play’n GO slot: plenty of risk, but not a huge amount of payoff. For something this volatile (maximum Play’n GO volatility), the top prize is surprisingly modest. Maybe the maths model is tuned to deliver 500x+ wins more often, but time will tell.
From a gameplay standpoint, Demon is essentially a twist on Legacy of Egypt, which itself took inspiration from the classic WMS slot Montezuma. Overall, it feels like a somewhat half-committed release and nowhere near as bold as Sabaton. If you’re a fan of the band, you’ll obviously want to spin it a few times. If you’re like us and had never even heard of Demon, you can safely skip it.
