Crystal Queen’s Coins: Slot Overview
British poet Edith Sitwell wrote, ‘Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.’ Winter also tends to be peak season for Christmas reskins, and although Crystal Queen’s Coins from developer Quickspin isn’t exactly a Christmas slot, it is still a reskin. For this frosty fairytale setting, the studio has stripped back Catrina’s Coins and dressed it up in snow. Along with the wintry coat come Snowpots, Crystal Ball Multiplier symbols, Crystal Coins, and a Frozen Fortune Bonus hold ‘n win feature.
While Catrina’s Coins looked like it unfolded on a bright, warm Mexican day, Crystal Queen’s Coins heads in the total opposite direction. Forget lazy poolside heat and knocking back Coronas—say hello to snow, sniffles, and staying wrapped up indoors. That’s a little unfair. Winter has its own charm, and Crystal Queen’s Coins tries to bottle some of it with bare trees, drifting snow, and a small, unmistakable nod to the animated musical Frozen.

Crystal Queen’s Coins is a 5-reel, 3-row video slot that calculates wins across 20 paylines. As is typical for Quickspin, there may be multiple RTP settings, and the highest available is the 96.06% version. If everything checks out, stakes run from 20 c to $/€100 per spin once you’re ready to play, and the volatility is high.
There are eight symbols in Crystal Queen’s Coins’ paytable. The lower-paying icons are the wooden J to A card ranks, returning 1.25x to 3.75x the bet for landing 5 OAK. The so-called mid-tier symbols are a snowman, a Nordic Fabio chap, a red-haired lady, and a cat, paying 15 to 37.5 times the bet for 5 OAK. Higher still is the wild, worth 75x for five of a kind, and it can replace any of the pay symbols mentioned above.
Crystal Queen’s Coins: Slot Features

It may look slick on the surface, but in terms of gameplay, Crystal Queen’s Coins is basically a hold ‘n win title, with fairly chunky top prizes and multipliers added into the mix.
Crystal Balls
When Crystal Ball symbols land, they uncover a random multiplier of x2, x3, x4, or x5. Crystal Ball Multipliers affect Snowflakes and line wins in the base game. In the base game, if more than Crystal Ball Multipliers appear, their values are added together before being applied. In the Frozen Fortune Bonus, Crystal Ball Multipliers are applied to Snowflakes and Crystal Coins.
Snowflakes
Landing a Snowflake symbol grants a fixed Snowpot prize of 20x, 100x, 500x, or 2,000x the bet. Snowflakes can appear on the rightmost reel in the base game, or on any reel during the Frozen Fortune Bonus.
Crystal Coins
Landing at least 3 Crystal Coins in the base game activates the Frozen Fortune Bonus. The coins that trigger the feature carry into the bonus and lock in place. Crystal Coins come with values of 1x to 5x the bet.
Frozen Fortune Bonus
The Frozen Fortune Bonus begins with 3 free spins, and only Crystal Coins, Snowflakes, or Crystal Ball Multipliers can land. Each time a new symbol lands, it resets the spin count to 3. Whenever Crystal Ball Multiplier symbols appear, they multiply all Snowflakes and Crystal Coin values currently showing on the reels. Once the feature ends, the total of all Snowflakes and Crystal Coin values in view is paid out.
Buy Feature
By paying 60 times the current total bet, players can purchase the Frozen Fortune Bonus and skip the base game. At least 3 Crystal Coins will land to start the feature.

Crystal Queen’s Coins: Slot Verdict
Crystal Queen’s Coins came across as a reskin almost immediately. The rules and feature set felt extremely familiar. Early on, the question was whether that sense of déjà vu came from Quickspin reusing the framework from another title, or whether the gameplay was simply that standard. Unfortunately, it turns out both are true at once. Crystal Queen’s Coins branches off from Catrina’s Coins, matching its stats and building blocks while also recycling gameplay that was fairly straightforward the first time.
You hit spin, land coin symbols to slide into the hold ‘n win feature, and then watch the symbols stick. It’s a very basic loop in a market already packed with similar games. One potential bright spot is the Crystal Ball Multipliers, which can turn an underwhelming outcome into something more respectable. Their multiplying effect also makes the Snowpot prize ladder beside the reels look more exciting, hinting at a top prize around 2,000x. Still, the game sheet lists max win potential at 10,151x, in line with what Catrina’s Coins is said to deliver.
Beyond that, there isn’t much else going on, with most of the focus placed on a simple, blink-and-you-miss-it money-symbol stacking bonus. Some players may appreciate the straightforward approach or the Frozen-style touches, but Crystal Queen’s Coins—much like its older sis Catrina’s Coins—is easy to overlook among the competition.
