Bold developer Hacksaw Gaming returns with a fresh entry in their Pocketz series. This time they’ve opted for a grid-slot setup in a charming title called Cash Compass. Cash Compass is another entertaining little release from Hacksaw Gaming. That said, it isn’t really that little, even if it can feel lightweight at first—especially if the Pocketz series is new to you. Like the other entries, though, it has a smooth rhythm that makes it easy to keep playing. It also offers more upside than you might initially expect.

With its breezy setting and uncomplicated play, Cash Compass sits naturally within the Pocketz lineup. Hacksaw has done an excellent job building a set of games that do exactly what they’re meant to do: deliver simple slots that players can relax with after a long day. Or, just as often, while commuting to or from work.

They’re a great fit for anyone who enjoys Candy Crush-style apps but wants a bit more bite and payoff. And the payoff is certainly present. At the moment, Cash Compass is the highest paying slot in the series, reaching 7,400 times the stake. The biggest wins can happen in the hard-to-find Bonus Game, where multipliers can stack to serious levels.

Cash Compass also nudges the series slightly away from its ultra-minimal roots. As long as Hacksaw maintains the simple, laid-back feel, that shift shouldn’t be a problem—and Cash Compass definitely keeps that vibe. The mechanics are straightforward but enjoyable, even if it may take a little time to click.

In testing, the lower-value clusters meant there were stretches where very little happened, made more noticeable by the lack of any cascade feature. Still, things did start to ramp up after a while—first through the Compass feature, which shows up fairly often and adds a bit of suspense.

After that, the features themselves proved pretty entertaining. The first time free spins landed, a big batch of parrots dropped onto the grid on the final spin, producing a 130x hit on top of the other wins from the round. Not the full 7,400x, but a nice result all the same.

All in all, Cash Compass is another highly playable entry in the Pocketz series. Hacksaw has managed to keep the core spirit of the range intact while still delivering noticeably different experiences each time. It may not have the strangely addictive x-factor of Cubes, but it’s a fun title regardless.
