Candy Mine Megaways Slot (Mini Review)
Candy Mine Megaways by Atlantic Digital is a 6-reel Megaways slot offering up to 117,649 ways, cascading wins, win-both-ways payouts, and a 5,000x max win. It feels instantly familiar, as it runs on essentially the same framework seen in several of the studio’s latest titles, only dressed up in a candy-cavern setting. The presentation goes all-in on the confectionery vibe, with gumdrops, lollipops, and a collection cart above the reels that holds tokens. A vertical strip of fixed jackpots appears on the left, echoing the same layout used across the studio’s other Megaways games. It’s bright and packed with detail, but not especially memorable if you’ve already played Sugar Rush-style slots.
The play sticks closely to the classic Megaways template: wins cascade, tokens help open up bonuses, and a respin feature is activated by symbols landing on the outer reels. If you manage to clear the grid, you’re taken to the Sweet Treat Wheel, divided into three tiers featuring jackpots, free spins, and level-ups. The free spins feature includes four configurations with progressively higher cascade multipliers, while jackpots are awarded by landing symbols at the same time on reels 1 and 6. There’s also an ante bet and two bonus buys, although the 94.31% RTP is notably low in every mode.
Looking at the overall package, Candy Mine Megaways comes across as an almost one-to-one remake of Star Trek: The Next Generation Megaways, simply swapped over to a candy theme. The core mechanics, the wheel, and the jackpot structure are all nearly identical. Because of that, it’s difficult to rate it highly. In the end, it’s a very average slot: it works, it’s colourful, but it’s so derivative that it feels unnecessary.
