Candy Fall: Slot Overview
This game has likely been cancelled
Alongside great novels and crewed space travel, one of Russia’s standout exports has to be Tetris. Designed by Soviet software engineer Alexey Pajitnov, it’s the kind of simple-to-grasp, hard-to-stop classic that swept across the globe. It even made its way into gambling via SG Digital/Red7 with Tetris Extreme, complete with the iconic Tetris tune ‘Korobeiniki’, and its central concept has been revisited again—loosely—in Candy Fall from developer Blueprint Gaming. Blending Tetris-style ideas with wagering might sound like it could turn into a gimmick, but there’s only one way to find out. Want to see if it works?
Channeling Geralt of Rivia, the first impression of Candy Fall was a thoughtful “hmm.” Although it leans on a familiar setup—players dropped into a sweet-filled candyland of sugary objects, with a background that constantly bobs up and down in a slightly distracting way—Candy Fall still manages to do something unexpected. That twist is the pair of pink-and-white striped boxed play areas positioned at the center of the screen.

Candy Fall doesn’t run on a typical reel-and-grid matrix. Instead, the left box shows separate shapes, while the 6×6-sized box on the right starts off packed full with shapes arranged to fill the entire area. Each round, 12 shapes appear in the left-hand grid, arriving 3 at a time. Clicking them individually removes the corresponding shape from the box on the right. Alternatively, you can hit Reveal All to skip the one-by-one clicking and move things along faster.
At the top of the right-hand box you’ll see 6 prize values. As shapes disappear, the prize values drop down to the lowest possible position. When a column is cleared, the respective prize is awarded. The values change from round to round, and it’s possible to collect more than one prize in a single game. For each round, players can wager 10 p/c to $/€10. In return, the game offers a theoretical return of 95% with volatility that sits on the lower end.

Candy Fall: Slot Features
Much like shaking out the final Skittle and eating it instantly, Candy Fall’s feature set is quick to take in. There’s essentially just one thing to mention: a bonus feature. During the base game, the word ‘Bonus’ can show up as a prize at the top of the play grid. If the ‘Bonus’ prize reaches the bottom of the box, the bonus feature activates. In the bonus, players pick one of 3 chocolate bombs to reveal a prize. And that’s the whole feature.

Candy Fall: Slot Verdict
Have you ever been completely absorbed in a tense Tetris session, with blocks falling at insane speed, where your conscious brain checks out and your hands take over—dropping a square here, sliding a four-long line there, spinning an ‘L’ piece somewhere else—so that, somehow, despite the ridiculous tempo, you keep clearing lines to stop the stack hitting the top and ending everything, while sweat drips down and your fingers move like Yngwie Malmsteen’s during a blisteringly fast solo?
Candy Fall isn’t that experience at all. If anything, it’s the polar opposite. The tempo is painfully slow, even if you keep hammering Reveal All just to finish a round. It’s also worth preparing for loads of dead rounds or small wins. And clicking shapes one at a time… who honestly has the patience? On top of that, there’s the question of where all this clicking is actually going. Sadly, not much, and the paytable makes it clear. Scroll down and you’ll see the maximum win from a single game is 250,000 currency units or 251x the bet – whichever comes first. With a $/€10 max stake, it’s a fair assumption that the 251x limit will be the one that matters.
To be fair, Blueprint Gaming has delivered something different, and credit is due for trying something new. That was a bit unexpected, considering the previous two Blueprint Gaming titles we reviewed were largely standard Megaways releases. Still, as with the far edges of fashion, being original doesn’t automatically make something enjoyable. So while some players may genuinely like Candy Fall’s slow pace and modest win ceiling (more power to them), we found it to be among the least entertaining, least thrilling, and least exciting games we’ve played in quite some time.
