Bouncy Bombs: Slot Overview
Not so long ago, it seemed like every other new release was built around Big Time Gaming’s hugely popular Megaways game engine. Some studios used it brilliantly; others leaned on it mainly for the hype factor. At the time of writing, scatter-paying slots are the big trend, with developers trying to capture the same success by weaving the mechanic into their own titles. Software provider Hacksaw Gaming takes its shot with the online slot Bouncy Bombs. It’s no shock to find scatter wins paired with multiplier symbols and cascades, but the studio also adds a sizeable set of bonus buys, and the tweaks to how multiplier symbols work are worth a look for scatter fans.
Cast your mind back to when Hacksaw Gaming first hit the slot scene, rolling out one cute title after another, often under its Pocketz range—Stick ‘Em, Om Nom, Cubes, and more. Bouncy Bombs feels like a return to that period, with a cast of Toonz-style characters filling a grid set in a soft, dreamy world of blues and pinks. A large blue jelly mushroom, topped by a smaller blue jelly mushroom, tags along as you spin, and the whole presentation is dripping with charm.

Of course, Hacksaw Gaming isn’t focused on “cute maths,” and Bouncy Bombs is a medium-volatile slot that can swing either way. Its default RTP is 96.22%, and there are also three lower models available. The squishy symbols drop onto a 6-reel, 5-row grid with no ways or paylines. Instead, wins are formed by landing at least 8 identical pay symbols anywhere on the board. Winning symbols are removed and new ones fall in via the cascading wins mechanic. To begin, choose a stake from 10 c up to $/€100 per spin.
Red, orange, green, blue, and purple candies make up the low-pay set, while the premium symbols are the big-eyed strawberries, oranges, apples, and berries. An 8 OAK scatter win returns 0.2 to 2 times the bet, and a 19+ scatter win pays 50 to 400 times the bet. Those are solid amounts given the multipliers in play, although there are no wilds in Bouncy Bombs to assist with forming wins.
Bouncy Bombs: Slot Features

The feature set in Bouncy Bombs combines cascades, multiplier symbols, and free spins, with Hacksaw putting its own spin on the multiplier-bomb element. On top of that, the feature buy menu includes five different bonus options.
Bomb Multipliers
When a spin ends, if there has been at least one win, any bomb multipliers in view explode. Their multiplier values are added together, and that total then multiplies the spin’s overall win. There are three types of multiplier bombs:
- Normal Bomb – appears showing a multiplier of x2, x3, or x4.
- Revealing Bomb – its value of x5, x10, x25, x50, or x100 is only shown when it explodes.
- Cascading Dynamite Bomb – lands with its starting value of x5, x10, x15, x20, or x25 revealed. The bomb’s value doubles with each new cascade.
Bombastic Bonus Feature
Landing 3 FS scatters in the base game triggers 10 Bombastic Bonus free spins. In this round, there is an increased chance of activating the base-game mechanics. Landing 2 FS symbols grants +2 extra spins, and landing 3 FS symbols grants +4 extra spins.
Bombastic Fantastic Bonus Feature
Landing 4 FS scatters in the base game starts this feature with 10 free spins. Here, a Bomb Multiplier is guaranteed to land on every spin. Retriggers work the same way as in the previous feature.
Bonus Buy
Bouncy Bombs offers several feature buy choices. All are low volatile:
- BonusHunt FeatureSpins – each spin costs 3x the bet and is 5 times more likely to trigger a bonus game. RTP 96.38%.
- Normal FeatureSpins – each spin costs 25x the bet to guarantee at least one bomb and one win. RTP 96.27%.
- Revealing FeatureSpins – 75x the bet for a spin, guaranteeing at least one revealing bomb and one win. 96.27%.
- Bombastic Bonus – 100x the bet. RTP 96.29%.
- Bombastic Fantastic Bonus – 200x the bet. RTP 96.27%.

Bouncy Bombs: Slot Verdict
It’s hard to discuss Bouncy Bombs without measuring it against a certain Pragmatic Play scatter-paying blockbuster. Since Gates of Olympus burst onto the market, it has effectively become the yardstick for many scatter-paying titles that followed. A big reason is that Bouncy Bombs shares a very similar toolkit—cascades, scatter wins, multiplier symbols, and free spins. Like spreading Nutella over a waffle, it’s a proven mix and one that has been copied plenty of times. Still, Hacksaw Gaming—true to form—has adjusted the mechanics enough to give players something that may not be blazing new, but is at least different enough to test out.
Between the two, Bouncy Bombs felt like the tougher ride, while Gates of Olympus came across as more even, despite being highly volatile compared to Bouncy Bombs’ medium rating—or low when using feature buys. In Bouncy Bombs, Dead Spins and small-win spins piled up, and the balance could melt away like candy on the tongue, making parts of the base game feel slow. FeatureSpins did help push things along toward free spins, as intended. The bonus rounds also differ because there’s no persistent total win multiplier. Multiplier symbols may show up more often than in the base game, but you can’t build a running multiplier as the feature continues—you either land a big hit on a single spin, or you don’t.
When it connects properly, Bouncy Bombs can deliver prizes of up to 10,000 times the bet across all game modes. Some symbol payouts are attractive, and the higher multiplier values shouldn’t be overlooked, so on paper Bouncy Bombs definitely has the potential to explode. It can just as easily swing the other way, though, giving scatter-slot specialists a game that’s partly familiar yet also presents a noticeably different challenge to overcome.
