Bonzo’s Bananza: Slot Overview
Cartoons have taught us that monkeys are big fans of bananas, but not many primates are as obsessed with the curved yellow snack as the star of this release. Meet Bonzo, the main character in ELK Studios’ online slot Bonzo’s Bananza – a banana/bonanza wordplay that’s been seen before, but it fits. The theme is a straightforward monkey-and-banana romance, paired with a game that’s relatively uncomplicated for ELK Studios, relying on full-reel wild multipliers, nudging wilds, and respins to keep the action moving.
Bonzo brings plenty of attitude. He’s a laid-back, ice-cool monkey, vibing to hip-hop and leaning on his symbol frame like nothing could ever go wrong. Maybe life’s simple when your biggest concerns are stacking bananas and picking a branch to sleep on. In the base game, Bonzo chills in an Aztec-style setting with a towering temple and a monkey statue tangled in vines. To reach free spins, you have to break into the temple, which is plastered with bananas. That works out nicely since Bonzo can be distracted by them, giving players a shot at the temple’s treasures – at least, that’s essentially how the game’s description frames it.

Bonzo’s Bananza runs with 259 win ways across a 5-reel, 5-row layout. Scoring 8 out of 10, the math model is highly volatile and comes with an RTP of 94%. Bets can be set from $/€0.20 up to $/€100.
Only seven paying symbols appear on the reels: Q-A card ranks, kiwifruit, oranges, watermelons, and birds. Landing 5 OAK with these symbols returns 0.25x to 5x the bet.
Bonzo’s Bananza: Slot Features

Bonzo goes bananas with Monkey wilds, Banana wilds, respins, multipliers, free spins, and X-iter feature buys.
Wilds
The Monkey wild and the Banana wild replace all symbols except scatters. A win made entirely of wilds pays the same as the top-paying symbol. Monkey wilds are fully stacked and nudge into place to cover their reel when they land. After the reels stop, a random multiplier is applied to the Monkey wild. Hitting a Monkey wild also triggers a respin where any Monkey wilds on the grid become sticky. If two Monkey wilds land together, their respins resolve one after the other. Banana wilds are 2-position tall symbols with no multiplier that nudge up or down, granting respins until they move off the screen. Banana wilds can randomly connect to a Monkey wild, boosting the multiplier with each nudge.
Free Spins
Hitting 3 or more scatters in the base game activates 5 free spins. Landing 4 scatters adds a Monkey symbol on the first free spin, while 5 scatters place 2 Monkey wilds on the first spin. Free spins retrigger the same way whenever 3 or more scatters land, and any awarded Monkey wilds appear on the following free spin. Any Monkey wilds that land during free spins stay sticky for the remainder of the round. Respins triggered by Monkey wilds or Banana wilds do not use up free spins. If free spins trigger during a base game respin, the game resumes the respins once the bonus round finishes. Monkey wild symbols that are present in a base game bonus trigger do not carry into the bonus round.
X-tier Feature Buys
Bonus Hunt purchases a spin with 3 times the chance to trigger a bonus round for 2x the stake, the Monkey Wild option costs 10x to guarantee a Monkey wild symbol, and Monkey Wild Bananza costs 25x to drop two Monkey Wilds. You can also buy free spins for 100x triggered by at least 3 scatters, or the super bonus triggered by 5 scatters for 500x the stake.

Bonzo’s Bananza: Slot Verdict
This isn’t to suggest Bonzo’s Bananza is a poor game, but it does come across as a little less fleshed out than many ELK Studios releases. Not necessarily a negative – more an observation. Where some ELK Studios slots can feel like revision for a final exam once you dig into the details, Bonzo’s Bananza is far easier to understand. It isn’t aiming for deep complexity, instead leaning into rapid wild-multiplier gameplay. In a few ways it brought to mind a blend of Giraffalot and Man vs Gator, though Bonzo and his mechanics deliver their own brand of chaos.
That chaos is all about getting Monkey wilds onto the reels, then landing Banana wilds to ramp up their multipliers, while wins fire off as respins keep rolling. When the game hits this rhythm – nudging, stickying, wilding, multiplying, and so on – it can be genuinely exciting. Some standout moments came from bonus rounds where two sticky multiplier Monkey wilds sat on the two leftmost reels, or when a pair of Monkey symbols landed on reels 2 and 3, effectively ensuring a win on every free spin. From what I recall, two wilds tended to deliver much more than one. Five spins isn’t a huge amount, but retriggers can happen, and respins can also extend the bonus action.
Bonzo’s Bananza might feel slightly light for players who prefer ELK Studios’ more intricate designs, yet that simplicity is also one of its strongest points. The 10,000x max win adds extra pull too, and overall Bonzo’s Bananza serves up a tempting banana-split-style slot for anyone drawn to its quick-fire pace.
