Big Trophy Fishing Megaways: Slot Overview
How much more can really be said about fishing slots that hasn’t already been covered time and again? They remain a firm favourite for players and developers alike, and the catalogue of fish-themed titles just keeps expanding. One common thread across many of them is a special symbol—often a fisherman—that gathers the cash values shown on fish symbols across the reels. That formula has been around for ages and doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere soon. Developer Blueprint Gaming has produced plenty of these games before, and it’s added another to the list called Big Trophy Fishing Megaways.
Blueprint Gaming hasn’t exactly reinvented the visuals here. In the base game, you’re looking at a familiar reel set sitting underwater, framed by some sea plants and a pale sandy shoreline. The soundtrack is the standout, sounding like a band attempting a Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Ben Harper-style blend. It’s got a funky edge, but that’s largely where the flair ends. Fish, boats, ocean—there’s no mistaking this is a fishing slot.

Big Trophy Fishing Megaways doesn’t stretch BTG’s Megaways system to its absolute limit, with 6 reels showing up to 5 symbols each and a maximum of 15,625 ways to win. Players can set their stake from 10 c to $/€50 per spin, and there’s also the option to purchase the free spins feature. Whichever route you choose, the default RTP is 96%, and volatility is high.
The paytable includes 10-A card ranks, fish symbols (which can also display cash tags), plus bait, hats, reels, and tackle boxes. Landing 5 matching royals returns 2 to 5 times the bet, while 6 matching premium symbols pay 10 to 200 times the bet. The wild boat symbol appears only during the free spins feature, where it replaces all standard paying symbols.
Big Trophy Fishing Megaways: Slot Features

Landing 3, 4, 5, or 6 trophy scatter symbols triggers 10, 15, 20, or 50 free games, respectively. Before the spins begin, players pick yachts for a chance to activate up to 5 upgrades. Picks continue until ‘Start Free Games’ appears. Upgrades include:
- Adding a cash tag to the tackle box, fishing reel, fishing hat, or the fishing bait symbol.
- A respin upgrade that respins all positions except those showing wild boats or cash symbols until a boat symbol lands without improving the win.
- +Collect – unlocks the golden wild boat that collects cash 2 to 5 times.
- Bonus Boost – adds to the progress trail the ability to earn another yacht pick when 2, 6, or 10 wild boat symbols are collected.
- Level Boost – if revealed at the start of the bonus, the round begins with the multiplier already upgraded to x2, but no extra free spins. If revealed in the middle of free spins, the trail is upgraded to the next level.
- +Games – grants 2, 3, 4, or 5 additional free spins.
- Minimum Megaways – ensures a minimum Megaways count of 5,000, 10,000, or 15,625.
Wild boat symbols show up during free spins and collect the values of every cash tag currently visible. Wild symbols are also collected. Once 4, 8, or 12 wild boats have been collected, players receive +10 extra free spins each time and an x2, x3, or x10 multiplier, respectively, which is applied to the collected cash tags.
Bonus Buy
To ensure at least 3 scatters land and free spins are triggered, players can purchase the bonus round for 100 times their bet.

Big Trophy Fishing Megaways: Slot Verdict
We went in hoping Big Trophy Fishing Megaways might have a few unexpected twists. Blueprint Gaming has as much experience with this style of slot as almost anyone, but here it feels like the studio has played it safe rather than pushing for something fresh. In practice, it’s essentially a return to familiar territory—very close to Big Catch Bass Fishing Megaways, which itself spun out of Big Catch Bass Fishing, which spun out of Fishin’ Frenzy The Big Splash. As Darth Vadar once put it, “the circle is now complete.”
As a result, there isn’t a huge amount that stands out. The base game is fairly uneventful, although the symbol values are sizeable for a Megaways title, even with the ways capped at 15,625. The RTP is solid, and the win potential is respectable too. In other words, fans of gambling fish slots will likely find Big Trophy Fishing Megaways acceptable and familiar. It hits the expected notes, but frustratingly stops there, making little effort to feel new, distinctive, or especially thrilling. On the brighter side—sort of—Big Trophy Fishing Megaways delivers exactly what it promises, and not much beyond that.
