Beasty Blox Gigablox has some genuinely solid concepts built into it, though it’s a pity they don’t seem to show up more regularly or with greater impact. Super Staxx, in particular, feels like a smart addition for a Gigablox title using a ways-to-win system. It would have been intriguing even on fixed paylines, but pairing it with thousands of ways sounded especially promising. Unfortunately, Super Staxx didn’t crop up very often, and when it did, it didn’t appear to move the needle much. Maybe it was just an unlucky session. Even so, it’s still early, and perhaps Jelly will revisit Super Staxx in future Gigablox slots and let it shine more frequently.

Another positive is the free spins wild multipliers, which remain active whether or not they contribute to the actual win. That’s a nice, player-friendly detail. The free spins trigger rate is unclear, but they didn’t seem to land particularly often either. It gives the impression there’s plenty of good content here, yet the game is hesitant to hand it out. Those willing to grind through in hopes of prying the best moments from Beasty Blox Gigablox’s tight grip could be rewarded. With a top payout of 5,000x the bet, the max win is close to double-ish what Jelly offered in its previous Gigablox release.

At least the wait is softened by Beasty Blox Gigablox’s attractive presentation, which is easy on the eyes. Still, a little more teasing—more frequent feature action—wouldn’t have hurt. If Super Staxx, arguably the most distinctive element in Beasty Blox, had also been available in the base game, the overall experience might have felt more lively. There are strong ideas here, but the constant run of straightforward base spins can become repetitive, and while Beasty Blox Gigablox sits somewhere around the middle of the Gigablox pack, there are more consistently exciting alternatives out there.
