Beast Mode: Slot Overview
Just over a year has gone by since Relax Gaming partnered with the Casinogrounds community to create Iron Bank, a release bursting with features and streamer nods like ‘Printing’ when the coins started flooding in. Now the studio and community are back with another collaboration called Beast Mode. The two share a few traits: both lean into a pastel-forward look, both feature anthropomorphic animals, and both are loaded with mechanics, to name a few. That said, Beast Mode stands firmly on its own—so let’s see what it brings to the table.
Beast Mode drops you into a hazy late-80s/early-90s vibe where being “cool” was the whole point and huge muscles were basically a fast pass to bitchin status. With the LA-style cues, the bright, fluro-soaked presentation carries a definite East Coast vs West Coast energy, while the soundtrack is straight-up retro wave—very much in fashion right now. The polish shows in little touches too, like symbols getting sliced off the reels when they form wins, paired with punchy sound effects that make the whole thing feel satisfyingly snappy. The idea is every bit as inventive as Iron Bank was, and the off-the-charts feel-good atmosphere is hard not to catch.

Beast Mode includes three separate bonus games, and each one—along with the base game—plays out on a 6×4 arranged game panel with 4,096 ways to win. Given the Casinogrounds involvement, it’s no shock that Beast Mode is highly volatile and offers a theoretical return to player of 96.32%—rising slightly to 97% when purchasing any of the bonus rounds.
A big reason Beast Mode feels so smooth is its cascading win mechanic. A win lands when at least three matching symbols connect left to right starting from the left side of the grid. Those symbols then disappear, letting new ones fall into place and potentially create additional wins, continuing until no further payout is formed. Symbol-wise, graffiti-styled 10-A card ranks act as the low-value set, paying 1x the bet for six of a kind. Above them are kettlebells, roller-skates, dumbbells, ghetto blasters, and lions as the higher-paying group. Hit a full line of 6 premium symbols and you’ll collect 2.5 to 25 times the stake. Bling necklace wilds appear on reels 2-6, substituting for all standard symbols and also feeding into the bonus features in several different ways.
Beast Mode: Slot Features
Alongside cascades in the base game, there’s a Random Mystery Spin feature, and the whole package is topped off by three selectable bonus rounds once triggered. There’s plenty to unpack here, so buckle up.
Random Mystery Spin
Random Mystery Spins can activate randomly during the base game, ensuring at least 1 mystery symbol appears. Mystery symbols reveal the same symbol type and are not destroyed, instead staying visible for the next cascade, where they change to a new symbol type. This keeps going for as long as wins continue on any symbol, except for wins made up purely of mystery symbols.
Free Spins
Free spins trigger by collecting 3 or 4 bonus symbols during a chain of cascades. When 3 bonus symbols start the feature, players can gamble for upgraded free spins by spinning a wheel with 50/50 odds—hitting a skull segment means the free spins are lost. If 4 scatters activate the round, players win the upgraded version immediately. After that, players pick one of the three options listed below. In every option, landing +1, +2, or +3 Spins symbols awards the corresponding number of extra free spins.

Mystery Symbols Free Spins
This mode begins with 6 free spins in standard form (10 when upgraded). When mystery symbols appear, they drop to the lowest available position and then remain there for the duration of the feature. Mystery symbols reveal the same random symbol, which changes between cascades or spins. Landing a bomb symbol increases the reel height by +1 row on the four middle reels, up to a maximum of 7 rows high, and also grants +3 free spins.
Multiplier Ladder Free Spins
Here, players start with 8 free spins and an x1 win multiplier (9 spins when upgraded). Following each win, or between spins, the multiplier increases to the next step on the meter. At specific points along the meter, additional free spins are awarded as well. The top multiplier available in this round is x500.
Expanding Wild Free Spins
This round opens with 7 free spins and an x1 win multiplier (x10 when upgraded), and wild symbols expand downwards when they land. On top of that, every wild symbol currently on the grid adds +1 to a global win multiplier.
Buy Free Spins
There’s also a shortcut for anyone who wants to jump straight into the action via the bonus buy option. This costs 80x the bet and takes players directly to the free spins selection screen to choose one of the three features.

Beast Mode: Slot Verdict
Beast Mode is the kind of concept that could have disappeared into its own oddness in less skilled hands. Instead, it manages to step away from Iron Bank while still feeling connected through its overall style, mood, and feature-heavy design. If anything, Beast Mode feels larger and more refined as a complete package, even if its potential has taken a hit in comparison. Even so, it still delivers on payout promise and packs plenty of exciting sequences when it’s firing on all cylinders.
Those standout sequences will most likely happen inside the bonus games. Having three to choose from encourages a bit of testing to find your favourite—or you can just pick one on impulse. None clearly outshone the others, since each brings its own set of advantages. The main drawback is the gamble option, which often turned into streaks of failed tries. That’s not a big deal in demo play, but it could sting with real money on the line. Still, it’s completely optional and best suited to players who like to push things as far as they’ll go. On the topic of limits, Beast Mode tops out at 25,000x the bet, which is roughly half of Iron Bank, but still “printing” (sorry) by most standards.
Beast Mode grabbed attention the moment it loaded and only became more enjoyable the longer it ran. Choosing animals over human characters was a smart call: it boosts the playful tone while stopping Beast Mode from feeling like a slot adaptation of Pain & Gain. Combined with its beautifully rose-tinted take on the era, it ends up feeling even more fun than Iron Bank—and with a little imagination, it’s easy to picture yourself rollerblading along Santa Monica at sunset, past palm trees and Lamborghinis, heading for a Muscle Beach workout… with a lion.
