Still, its 4,835x max win is a healthy figure versus much of the genre—though how often it’s actually achievable is another question. If only real-life angling were as straightforward as it can be in Bass Boss. Here, as long as the hook drops to the right depth and the fish are present, they’ll practically swim over and latch on. The smaller catches come fairly easily, at least. The bigger, more valuable fish symbols won’t appear on every cast, but they do show up—and impressively, the 100x fish was landed thanks to one of the random Nudge row moves the fisherman occasionally makes to give players a boost.

Even so, Bass Boss isn’t exactly a relaxing day out, so don’t expect giant money fish to constantly hop aboard. Reaching the fourth level in Contest Spins multiple times still didn’t guarantee a standout result. On paper, though, landing an Orange 200x fish at level 4 with the x10 multiplier on the float is a mouth-watering scenario, taking you close to halfway toward Bass Boss’ 4,835x the bet max win. For context, that’s more than double Big Bass Bonanza and higher than Bigger Bass Bonanza or even Big Bass Bonanza Megaways. It’s a touch below Big Bass Splash, and there are no monster trucks—something that might matter to certain outdoorsy types.

Whether Bass Boss’ top-end payouts are truly attainable is open to discussion, but fishing is as much about the experience as the trophy, right—being out in nature and doing the hunter-gatherer routine? If that’s the vibe you’re after, Bass Boss fits nicely into the expanding catalogue of fishing slots.
