Astro Rumble: Slot Overview
Start your engines, because we’re heading to the track to chase big moments in Astro Rumble from Hacksaw Gaming partners Bullshark Games. This isn’t your standard “fast car on a circuit” setup, though. Astro Rumble is set deep in the dark expanse of space on an undiscovered world, where the opposition isn’t even human. While you keep one tentacle on the steering and another on the throttle, the game focuses on triggering Pots that splash symbols and modifiers onto the grid in the base game, as well as across two bonus rounds.
With “Astro” pointing straight to stars and space, it makes sense that Astro Rumble places you far from Earth. You’re not here to chart the galaxy or negotiate with alien civilizations, however. The theme is a “high-speed space race,” which fits the purple alien racer in his extraterrestrial hot-rod and the track-style backdrop. Perhaps one day—assuming humanity doesn’t wipe itself out—we’ll be out there competing alongside our alien counterparts, though you do wonder whether something as light-hearted as racing would be too trivial for an advanced species. At least you’ve got some slick, slinky music to think it over to.

The playfield uses 5 reels with 4 rows each and runs on 14 paylines. Above the grid sit three Pots tied to Nitro symbols, wilds, and multipliers. Players can stake 10 c to $/€100 per spin, with several feature buys available as alternative ways to play. Bullshark Games has set this up with a medium-high volatile math model and two RTP settings—96.39% as the main option and 94.3% as the reduced one.
Astro Rumble’s standard symbols are four card ranks marked with clubs, diamonds, spades, and hearts, paying 1x the bet for 5 OAK. Premium icons include stopwatches, med kits, yellow items, green energy boosters, and Nitro symbols, returning 5 to 20 times the bet for 5-of-a-kind. The wild substitutes for any paying symbol and awards 20x for a full line of 5 wilds.
Astro Rumble: Slot Features

In Astro Rumble, the core objective is to build up and trigger Pots for Nitro symbols, wild symbols, and multipliers. On top of that, there are two bonus rounds to aim for, plus four feature buys.
Pot Features
- Pot of Nitro symbols – The amount shown in the red Pot sets the minimum number of Nitro symbols that will land on the spin. All three Pots have a possible value ranging from 2 to 10.
- Pot of Wild symbols – The purple Pot’s value decides how many wild symbols are added to the reels each spin. If a wild lands on top of another wild, it adds +1 to the Pot of multipliers. Wilds cannot land on scatters.
- Pot of multipliers – The number in the gold Pot determines how many win multipliers are placed on random symbols each spin. If multiple multipliers land on the same spot, their values combine. When a symbol carrying a multiplier contributes to a win, that multiplier boosts the payout. Possible multiplier values are x2 to x100.
Cosmic Boost
Cosmic Boost can trigger in the base game, activating one, two, or three Pots. Scatters do not appear during the Cosmic Boost.
Rocket Race
Landing 3 or 4 scatters grants 8 or 10 free spins, respectively. One Pot starts at a random value of 2, 3, 4, or 5, and all three Pots are progressive. Any Nitro and wild symbols that land in free spins are added to their respective Pots, while symbols showing multipliers add +1 to the multiplier Pot at the end of the spin. Landing 2, 3, 4, or 5 scatters awards an extra +2, +3, +4, or +5 free spins, respectively.
Galactic Rush
Hitting 5 scatters in the base game starts this feature with 12 free spins. Galactic Rush works like Rocket Race, except all Pots begin with a random initial value.
Feature Buy
Via the bonus buy, players can trigger BonusHunt FeatureSpins for 3x the bet to make each spin 5 times more likely to activate free spins, or choose Cosmic Boost FeatureSpins for 50x to ensure at least two Pots are active. Rocket Race is available for 100x, while Galactic Rush costs 300x.

Astro Rumble: Slot Verdict
Astro Rumble marks the first time Bullshark Games has left Terra behind to build an online slot, and the outcome feels uneven—some strong points, alongside areas that don’t quite hit. Coincidentally, the slot reviewed immediately before this was ELK Studios’ Pirots 4, and although the two titles deliver totally different gambling experiences and aren’t really direct rivals, the contrast in overall polish stood out. Astro Rumble’s soundtrack is enjoyable, the visuals do the job, and the concept is imaginative, but after Pirots 4’s space journey, ELK Studios’ off-world production made Astro Rumble seem a touch rougher and less refined in comparison.
That said, there’s still fun to be found here. Even though a 10,000x max win is theoretically possible in any mode, the base game felt noticeably less lively than the bonus rounds, and it leans heavily on the random Cosmic Boost to get the Pots firing and the action moving. The 14 paylines also behaved a bit oddly at times—such as when plenty of Nitro symbols and/or wilds were present, yet very little actually linked up into paying combinations. Free spins are clearly the better experience because Pot progress carries over, and whatever the Pots contain gets forced onto the grid on each free spin. Bonus rounds also gain extra tension from the framed grid positions that show where Nitro symbols are about to drop while the reels spin, ramping up the suspense when those frames cluster together.
After that, it becomes a question of connecting as many Nitro symbols as you can, with or without wild support, and hoping a healthy dose of multiplier values lands along the way. It can come together, and even if Astro Rumble doesn’t light up the cosmos, it’s still a distinctive space slot with some engaging grid-insertion ideas.
