Foxium’s series has leaned into a more whimsical tone, and Fortune Chill continues that approach, opting for a friendly vibe rather than charging through the Nine Realms, weapon drawn, looking for a fight.

Gameplay-wise, however, Andvari the Fortune Chill doesn’t shift gears as much as Andvari’s own storyline. The base game is largely a familiar loop of collecting coins, building up Jackpots, and waiting to see if one of the hot air balloons finally sets off a bonus round. That may or may not happen, and when it does, the bonuses aren’t especially thrilling, mostly focusing on landing coins and gathering Jackpot tokens with a bit of variety between them. The Wheel of Odds adds extra change-ups, not only through the different backdrops, but also via the three possible modifiers. It’s slightly frustrating that these modifiers aren’t guaranteed and instead depend on what the wheel decides to award. Still, that uncertainty can add a touch of suspense.

Although Fortune Chill underlines how flexible Norse mythology can be, the lighter tone also reduces some of the punch the theme might otherwise deliver. On top of that, anyone already familiar with coin collection and Link&Win-style gameplay may not discover much here that feels truly new. More casual players could enjoy the straightforward setup and the 10,000x max win, but much like a hot air balloon riding a steady breeze, Andvari the Fortune Chill drifts along rather than presenting an unmissable challenge.
