Abrakadabra: Slot Overview
Abracadabra is widely recognised these days as the magic word performers say while pulling off illusions and sleight of hand. Its true origins are unclear, but the term dates back at least to the second century, when it appeared in a work titled the Liber Medicinalis. In this book by Serenus Sammonicus, physician to Emperor Caracalla, malaria sufferers were advised to wear an amulet bearing the word abracadabra written in a triangular pattern. We’ve never put that cure to the test, so we can’t speak to how well it works—though the world can certainly be a strange place at times… It’s that offbeat, uncanny side of things that Armenian studio Peter & Sons leans into with its online slot Abrakadabra. It’s a feature-packed game filled with odd creatures and plenty of spellbinding flair.
Some Peter & Sons titles are identifiable at a glance, while others take a moment to place. Abrakadabra falls firmly into the instantly recognisable camp, sporting the studio’s signature style. It’s also not the first time Peter & Sons has explored the occult—Voodoo Hex being one example—and with Abrakadabra’s cast of unusual characters, magic is a perfect match for the developer’s distinctive artwork. Here, players are dropped into an enigmatic outdoor scene: a wizard-like fellow stands beside the rising win multiplier on one side, a translucent game grid sits centre stage, and a peculiar brown structure occupies the right. The combination of quirky personalities, mystical themes, and lively animation should leave fans of earlier Peter & Sons releases pleased with Abrakadabra’s opening impression.

Abrakadabra runs on a 5×3 main grid with an additional power reel positioned above it. While the visuals may look a little playful, the gameplay is actually highly volatile, and the default return to player is 96.07% with single-spin stakes ranging from 20 p/c to $/€100 per spin. Players can also switch on the Power Bet, which doubles the chance of triggering free spins for an increased stake cost of 20%. There are also two feature buys on offer, which are explained further down.
Winning ways set off a cascade: winning symbols are removed, symbols from the power reel drop in to cover the gaps, and then additional cascading symbols fill any spaces left behind. Cascades continue until no further win is formed. Abrakadabra doesn’t use paylines; instead, wins land when matching symbols appear on adjacent reels, beginning from the leftmost reel. This results in 243 ways to win. On the low end, J, Q, K, and A card ranks pay 0.25 to 0.35 times the bet for 5 OAK. Above those are a skeleton, a green jelly-like creature, a witch, and a reddy orange entity, with a 5-of-a-kind premium hit paying 0.55 to 2.5 times the stake. Then come wilds, which can substitute for any standard paying symbol to help complete winning combinations.
Abrakadabra: Slot Features

Packed with magical mechanics, Abrakadabra includes features such as a power reel, Wild Lives, Multiplier Powerup, a Step Multiplier, free spins, Super free spins, Wild Placement, and a bonus buy.
Power Reel
Positioned above the main grid is Abrakadabra’s power reel. Symbols on the power reel are released when winning symbols are removed beneath them by cascades. Two symbol categories can appear here – wilds with lives, and powerups that grant effects such as extra free spins or Multiplier Powerups.
Wild Lives
Wilds arrive with 1 to 3 lives. They stay on the reels until every life has been spent, with one life consumed on each cascade or spin.
Multiplier Powerup
This feature is only available in free spins and Super free spins. When it lands, it increments the current multiplier by +1 step in free spins or +1-3 steps in Super free spins. If multiple Multiplier Powerups are released at the same time, their steps are combined.
Step Multiplier
Every win increases the win multiplier. During the base game, the multiplier resets once a cascade sequence ends; it does not reset in free spins or Super free spins. The multiplier grows in stepped increments of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5… so it moves from x1 to x2, x4, x7, x11, x16, and onward.
Free Spins
Landing 3 scatters on the grid awards 7 free spins, and each extra scatter adds +2 free spins. Alongside the non-resetting win multiplier and the Multiplier Powerup, free spins also include a wild placement feature. This is triggered randomly when the power reel shows 2 or more wilds at the end of cascades or after a non-winning spin. When activated, those wilds can be placed into any positions on the grid.
Super Free Spins
If 1 or 2 scatters appear on the grid, they are collected. Once 450 have been collected overall, the game awards 10 Super free spins. Super free spins work like standard free spins, except the Multiplier Powerup can increase the multiplier by up to +3 steps.
Buy Free Spins
Anyone wanting direct access to the free spins round has two purchase options. One costs 90x the bet for 7 free spins, while the other costs 120x the bet for a random set of 7-11 free spins.

Abrakadabra: Slot Verdict
It had been some time since the last Peter & Sons review, so it was a pleasure to see the Armenian team back again. Abrakadabra is also a textbook example of what the studio does best. You can spot familiar threads from earlier titles, like Valkyries with its own power reel, Cauldron as a magic-driven slot featuring Super free spins scatter collection, and overall Abrakadabra radiates that unmistakable P&S identity. On that basis, anyone who’s enjoyed the developer’s previous games should have no trouble stepping into Abrakadabra’s world to see whether it can work a little magic for them as well.
In many respects, Abrakadabra reuses ideas the studio has explored before, so it may not be the most enticing pick for players who always want something completely new. That said, the game doesn’t really seem aimed at reinventing the wheel. Instead, it focuses on drawing players into a magical setting with character and a couple of surprises. Those surprises can hit hard, too. A climbing win multiplier is nothing unusual, but Abrakadabra’s step-based growth system can create a potentially parabolic build-up that may turn into a real adrenaline run. Super free spins add longer-term motivation, and reaching the maximum win of 10,000x the bet would be a memorable finale.
When Peter & Sons first arrived, it felt like a breath of fresh air—there simply wasn’t much else on the market that looked like what the studio was putting out. That’s still true today, though the developer hasn’t yet delivered a defining, era-making slot. So while games like Abrakadabra are enjoyable and full of charm, it also feels as if Peter & Sons has settled into a comfortable groove.
