4K Ultra Gold: Slot Overview
7 Gold Fruits, 7 Gold Gigablox, and 4K Ultra Gold; if there’s one precious metal 4ThePlayer seems especially keen on, it’s the gleaming yellow kind. In fairness, gold is hugely popular across online gambling in general, and along with “bonanza” it’s one of those words you can bolt onto almost anything to make it sound more exciting. Wallpaper Gold, Visit to the Dentist Gold, Gas Bill Gold—see, it keeps working as an instant dose of sparkle. 4K Ultra Gold also connects to earlier 4ThePlayer releases in other ways, thanks to its Money Ways prize feature, supported by Collect Spins, free spins, and additional elements.
If you’ve played one retro fruit-style slot, you’ve more or less seen the template, at least to a point. There are exceptions, naturally, and plenty of players will have their personal favourites. 4K Ultra Gold joins the pack, landing somewhere between “pleasant” and “unremarkable,” without being either a visual knockout or an assault on the eyes. It carries the bright palette and flashy delivery typical of the genre, so fans shouldn’t feel short-changed, but there isn’t much to single out graphically beyond a slightly grainy finish. The soundtrack, though—well, that may take some getting used to.

What isn’t exactly old-school is 4K Ultra Gold’s 4,096 ways to win mechanic, played on a 6-reel, 4-row grid. Winning combinations—Money Ways wins included—pay when matching symbols connect from the far-left reel across consecutive reels. The math model sits in the medium-high volatility range and delivers an RTP of 94%. Bets run from 20 c to $/€80, and there are also multiple bonus buy choices.
On the paytable, the lower symbols are the 10 through Ace card ranks, paying 1.25x to 1.5x the bet for a winning way. Above them are five better-paying icons—bells, chips, horseshoes, gold bars, and dollar signs—returning 2 to 7.5 times the stake for a 6-of-a-kind way. Wilds step in to help complete winning ways, substituting for all symbols except scatters.
4K Ultra Gold: Slot Features

4K Ultra Gold offers a handful of different routes to potential payouts. These include Money Ways, Collect scatters, Fortune Prizes, plus two pickable bonus rounds—Collect Spins and free spins.
Money Ways
Money Ways takes inspiration from titles such as the “4 Fantastic” slots and 5 Doggy Dollars. Gold symbols can appear on any reel carrying a Cash Prize of 0.6 to 100 times the bet. Their values rise each time they land on the grid, up to that reel’s maximum level, before any wins are paid. If Gold symbols form a winning combination starting from the leftmost reel, they award the prize values currently shown. After a payout is made, the Gold symbols drop back to their initial prize values.
Collect Scatters
When Collect scatters land, each one awards the cash values of all Gold symbols on the reels. This is paid separately from any Money Ways win created by Gold symbols.
Boosting Fortunes Prizes
On the far-right reel you’ll find Fortune symbols. If a Fortune symbol is included in a Gold symbol way win, the Fortune Prize on the symbol is awarded. The possible prizes are Ultra (4,000x – 10,000x), Mega (500x – 2,500x), Super (100x – 750x), and Big (50x – 300x) Fortunes. If they land without being won, the Fortune Prize increases (up to the maximum values) and can be collected on later spins. Once the Fortune Prize is awarded, it resets back to its starting amount.

Bonus Rounds
Hitting at least 3 scatter symbols activates the bonus selection, where players may choose Collect Spins or free spins: 3 scatters (2 collect spins or 8 free spins), 4 scatters (3 collect spins or 12 free spins), 5 scatters (5 collect spins or 20 free spins), or 6 scatters (10 collect spins or 40 free spins).
Collect Spins
In Collect Spins, only Gold symbols bearing Cash Prizes and Collect symbols can appear. On every spin, 1 Collect symbol is guaranteed to land. Cash prizes may also still be paid through Money Ways. This feature cannot be retriggered.
Free Spins
In free spins, whenever wilds appear, they turn into multiplier wilds with a random multiplier value of x5 to x50. The multiplier can boost both wins and Cash Prizes. Free spins can be extended by landing 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols to receive 5, 8, 12, 25, or 50 extra free spins, though Collect symbols do not show up during this feature.
Bonus Buy
With the bonus buy, players can enter the bonus stage as if 3-6 scatters landed for 50x the bet, 4-6 scatters for 75x the bet, 5-6 scatters for 125x the bet, or 6 scatters for 250x the bet.

4K Ultra Gold: Slot Verdict
So far, these 7 Gold / Ultra Gold-style releases haven’t fully convinced me. Part of that is because 4ThePlayer typically separates itself by leaning into more inventive themes than classic fruit symbols. By comparison, the retro direction feels like going for the easy win rather than taking players somewhere less predictable, as the studio did with games like 10X Rewind or 60 Second Heist. Those titles were creative in their mechanics as well as their presentation. Sure, this is the online slot world, and producing a classic retro fruit game is almost a box-ticking exercise, but it doesn’t stop these releases from feeling overly common.
4K Ultra Gold attempts to rise above the middle by pairing a familiar money-symbol collect setup with Money Ways, which at least adds a twist. The bonus stage also gives players a choice of paths. The guaranteed Collect symbol on every Collect Spin is a notable idea, although the limited number of spins leaves little room for things to go wrong when the feature is triggered with fewer scatters. It’s also hard not to notice how closely the two-option bonus approach resembles Fortune Factory Studios’ Mask of Amun. In fact, quite a few aspects feel similar between that game and 4K Ultra Gold. Coincidence? Hard to know. Where 4K Ultra Gold does come out ahead is maximum potential, reaching 12,000x the bet.
For players wanting a retro-style experience with a more contemporary feature set, 4K Ultra Gold is at least an option worth weighing up. That said, the features can feel a bit worn, and the generic, slightly gaudy visuals don’t help. Whether you enjoy them or not, 4ThePlayer often pushes boundaries in ways many other slots don’t. 4K Ultra Gold doesn’t really do that, and it ended up feeling watered down thanks to the below-par RTP, the somewhat soft-focus look, occasionally irritating music, and familiar, recycled gameplay.
