4 Wolves of Fortune: Slot Overview
Online slot 4 Wolves of Fortune may sound like something 4ThePlayer would name, given the number-led title, yet it actually rolls off Yggdrasil Gaming’s production line. Unfortunately, that reveal is about as surprising as things get here. That’s because 4 Wolves of Fortune is, for all intents and purposes, a near carbon copy of Raptor DoubleMax, swapping prehistoric predators for wolves and canyon scenery while keeping the Dropdown Wins and DoubleMax Multiplier framework intact.
Wolves roam across North America and Eurasia, and it’s the North American side that provides the backdrop in 4 Wolves of Fortune. Alongside the wolves, the wild symbol carries a Native American flavour, and the setting is pure wilderness—canyons, rock, and open vistas stretching into the distance. The Grand Canyon is an easy real-world reference point. In terms of presentation, 4 Wolves of Fortune does create an atmosphere, though it leans toward the familiar when it comes to wolves, Native American motifs, and canyon landscapes in online casino games.

4 Wolves of Fortune is a highly volatile slot with stakes ranging from 20c to $/€50 per spin. By paying an additional 25% on top of the wager, players can switch on the Golden Bet, which doubles the odds of landing the free spins feature—where the action is notably livelier than in the base game. Wins are calculated across 25 paylines on a 5×3 gaming area, and the game runs at an RTP of 96%.
Landing 5 matching J-A card ranks on a payline returns 1 to 1.2 times the stake, while 5-of-a-kind premium wolves pay 2 to 5 times the bet. As the title suggests, there are four wolf symbols—blue, green, purple, and red. Wilds can help complete combinations, as they substitute for every paying symbol.
4 Wolves of Fortune: Slot Features

4 Wolves of Fortune’s feature set is the familiar DoubleMax package: Dropdown Wins, DoubleMax Multiplier, free spins, a gamble option, and a bonus buy.
Dropdown Wins
The Dropdown Wins mechanic clears winning symbols from the reels, allowing new symbols to fall into the empty spaces, which can create additional wins. Before the drop happens, a wild is placed into one of the winning positions. Dropdown Wins continue for as long as fresh wins keep forming on the grid.
DoubleMax Multiplier
Each Dropdown Win doubles the total multiplier, which starts at x1. In the base game, the total multiplier resets whenever a spin or Dropdown produces no win.
Free Spins
Triggering 3, 4, or 5 scatters in the base game grants 7, 10, or 13 free spins with a starting win multiplier of x1, respectively. On entry, players can gamble for more free spins, unless they already received 13. A failed gamble loses the feature, while a successful gamble upgrades the award, up to 13. During free spins, the DoubleMax Multiplier does not reset until the feature is fully complete. Scatters don’t appear in free spins, meaning the round cannot be retriggered.
Feature Buy
Players can purchase direct access to the bonus by paying 100 times their bet to receive 7 free spins. As with a standard trigger, the gamble option is available after buying the feature to try for more free spins.

4 Wolves of Fortune: Slot Verdict
Regrettably, 4 Wolves of Fortune lands as a letdown. We don’t cover a huge number of Yggdrasil Gaming slots, partly because their release pace seems to have eased, so receiving what is essentially a Raptor DoubleMax rerun with a fairly ordinary theme on top felt deflating. No slight intended toward the art and audio teams—4 Wolves of Fortune looks and sounds perfectly solid—but the appeal of its nicely drawn North American scenery fades once it becomes clear the gameplay is recycled.
On its own merits, the combination of Dropdowns, wild placement, and the ever-doubling win multiplier is a strong formula. Yggdrasil Gaming absolutely nailed it with Raptor DoubleMax, and several later games using the concept have been standouts too. Barbarossa/Barbarossa Revenge by Peter & Sons are great examples of titles that used the DoubleMax foundation to build something memorable. 4 Wolves of Fortune is still a serviceable entry in this mould, but it’s hard to call it a truly strong release given the lack of technical progression or fresh mechanical ideas.
That said, 4 Wolves of Fortune is definitely playable if this style is your thing; it offers a hefty 20,000x win cap, and streaks of consecutive hits that send the DoubleMax multiplier soaring should feel just as thrilling here as they do elsewhere. Taken in isolation, then, it does the job—but it also adds to the impression of a studio easing away from innovation and leaning a little too heavily on past successes.
